I visited the Nissan building in Dec. and saw about 6 GTR's in various colors. They had a continuous loop of the car at the Nurburgring out performing Porsche Turbos and GT3's. This car is the real dealm not just a 0 - 60 or quarter mile car. Beautifully outfitted inside and out. This is an Aston Martin or M5 beater that works perfectly as a daily driver for about $70.

I wouldn't be surprised to find that the AWD front/rear power delivery is computer controlled. Like 60 to 80% rear and 40 to 20% front, or even less depending on traction limits. As you gain speed, and traction, the parasitic loss may taper off.

A couple of thought on the horse power.
Tthe 470 horse numbers could easily be 'fudged' for insurance purposes, it it likely much higher. Second thought was horse power alone does not tell the whole story when it comes to quick accelleration. A short stroke carefully designed engine can build rpm quicker than a same size engine with a longer stroke/different cam profile. Thus absolute horse power just doesn't tell the whole story.

Oh definitely. It's certainly a major accomplishment with formidable performance capabilities, and with all the aids, much easier to drive fast. If you put a rookie in a GT-R vs. Z06 or uber-Porsche, it would be reasonable to predict that the rookie would be faster in the GT-R every time. For pro-drivers, it would likely be a different outcome, if the specs I've read are accurate.

Ernie, it's less likely that the numbers are fudged in this day and age. Most use the SAE-rating system, and there is no fudging. Moreover, understating ruins your bragging rights, which is the essential marketing reason to develop a car like this. That makes no sense. Why would any "supercar" manufacturer care about insurance rates?

I was reflecting on how insurance rates all but killed the muscle cars of yester year. Surely insurance rates still play a roll to some degree, even for super cars? If you have a questionable license (lot of points) it could be all but impossible to secure insurance at any price.

While the SAE rating is certainly accurate, it doesn't mean all follow it with published results.
