Reverse sweep speedometers look cool but you need a reverser and it's best when mounted on the tranny. The whole process is a PITA. I wish I had gone with the regular gauge.

Default Kirkham gauges

I have the Kirkham gauges which are electronic and they work great. No need for a gearbox for reverse speedo.

Forget all the off brand stuff that works. Go for the gusto .. get the Smith's gauges (and the Lucas amp gauge) from Nisonger or other place.

I've used them for 14 years and they are original looking. They are also the most bouncing and twitchy-needled group of gauges I've seen. Night time illumination among my Smith / Lucas gauges is not well matched.

When I've got my right foot planted on the floor, I don't know if the engine is turning 6,200, 6,600 or 6,800 rpm because of the tach's +/- needle swing.

I'll probably do a complete change over to the Kirkham gauges.

David
