If you'll be taking it to the shop, Keith Craft has a shop right here in Plano. If you went with a KCM motor, it's good to have them here. We have recommendations of other shops too.
If you can find the color/motor combo you want, you'll save buying used.
With the economy and this time of year, good deals are out there. Classifieds here or Cobra Country is where you find 'em.

Appreciate all the insight and advice. I will try to hook up with the North Texas guys (I live in Flower Mound) to get some first hand knowledge and opnions, and to see and hear all the craziness in person. Thanks.

Used is a good route with the current financial woes, not to mention ground-up builders rarely recoup all the $$$ they put into the build as well as hours of work.

While the kits seem to be a good deal, by the time you start adding all the options you want and factor in the paint job ($10k and up is common). Well you get the idea...

It's easy to find cars with under 5k miles and if the car is maintained poorly it'll show. The immaculate ones have likely been babied. Not to mention a few years lets the possible fiberglass defects / poor quality show up.

As with any used car let your mechanic inspect it before you write the check.
