lawsuit about Gone in 60 seconds
I can't believe this lawsuit came back
I can't believe that the contract from the producer buying the rights to the original movie didn't include merchandising rights to items/characters in the film (does it?)
And isn't it all a tempest in a teapot now that Unique is belly up and not making Eleanors any more? Or I lost track, has Shelby assigned another company to fill the orders? (on what chassis, I heard the FBI confiscated 60 or so chassis).
I can't see how the '71 Mustang Mach I in the original movie has anything to do with the GT500 in the second movie other than they both were Fords when born.
I am not a lawyer but I fail to see any merit in this case (hey, that does sound sort of legalese, don't it?)

It's all about following the law.
In this case the courts agreed with Halicki (sp) and Co and not CSL and Co.

I didn't know the case had been adjudicated ( sp?)
There are two lawsuits, one against Unique, one against Shelby.
I thought the ball was still in play to mix my metaphors.

Unique is DOA and from what I have personally heard bankrupt...The lawsuit with CSL has been decided in favor of Halicki Licensing and Co.

Pssst, Slojo, add the DOT COM to the end of your link and it works.
Classic Recreations : Recreating America's Finest Automobiles
But I fail to see the point of the above link, as it pertains to either Eleanor, Ford or Mustangs in general. Their gallery shows a lot of Chevies and they sell 'hot rod' parts. I didn't see a single Ford picture, probably some there if you look hard enough. Apparently, just another supplier/builder of whatever kind of car you would like to have. Want your new Dodge Magnum modified? They can do that. Throw a stick toward Calif and you'll hit several shops like that...

Buffy
It ain't you...there's simply not enough info coming through from the case(s) to make sense of it.

Just for the record, Unique Motorcars is alive and well, Unique Performance is the company that went belly up. We have received numerous emails concerning Unique Performance and have to explain to them who we are. Don't hesitate to call us if you are interested in a kit or turnkey minus, we aren't going anywhere!

Yes! This has NOTHING to do with our beloved replica company in Alabama, Unique Motorcars. They are not related in any way, shape or forum. We would not want folks to be comfused about that!

Alan, many of us continue to get the word out as it concerns your company, on this on other forums. You got a raw deal, 'we' as a community have an obligation to help when and where we can. Keep up the good work.

Thanks guys! We get a few emails every week asking if we are affiliated with Unique Performance, some of them are customers and some are suppliers. When they first started building cars they went by Unique Motorcars, our lawyers convinced them to change their name, that turned out to be a blessing.
