Default Weber hood clearance height?

Does anyone have an assembled height, similar to Edelbrock's A/B method, of assembled Webers measured form the front and rear block surfaces to the top of the air horns? As a general rule, are they normally higher, lower or the same as an average dual plane with a turkey pan and single 4bbl?

My choices will come down to a Edelbrock Performer RPM with a Holley double pumper, S&H air cleaner and a turkey pan, or a set of Webers with air horns. I'm not even sure the Webers will fit under the hood, and I can't find assembled Weber heights anywhere.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Default

I don't think my measurements would help you much, as I am running a Cleveland with Webers
in an ERA, but, here's a shot of what the hood clearance looks like:

The hood scoop REALLY IS needed, as they stick right up into it. I milled another quarter inch off the top
of the manifold to give the carbs a little more "breathing room".

Default You can run short horns on the webers and still fit under the hood

767Jockey Hey They make this thing call a hammer and saw, you can make anything fit. That's the return for the fly over the car from the coil attack. John Check with Al who sells TWM setup on here. He has an airfilter kit that mounts right on top of the horns. If I recall, I thought that the Contemp cobras mount the motor a little lower than say the ERA cars. There is possiblity of a small problem with poor air getting to the back carbs, #4 &#8. IMO the best thing is to build a box that is sealed to the hood when closed. This will pressurize the area for the carbs and help with air getting into them. Again I am NOT a pro with WEBERS or OLBERGS. GT-40's used this as a little power booster at high speed in lemans. cheap supercharging. Rick L.
