Gas prices?
Will the high gas prices change the way you drive your car or the fuel you buy?

It is with a lot of regret it probably will cause me to restrick my driving even more than it was in the past. Good news for the Insurance companies. After all the saving, work, and expense ,it now seems extravagent to spend money like that. ten minute warm up +10 mpg if I drive like it's a lump. A run to my sons' house easily $15 but an $80 ( 25 gal x $3.50 + additave) tank of gasoline turning to varnish is a terrible image.

Who cares!
Ahhhh....the smell of race gas when I drive my car, yes it's $7.50+ a gallon but I didn't build a Cobra for gas mileage. It's the smiles per gallon I want.

Probably not the quantity of trips but definitely the length. Probably stay closer to home. At least until the kids move out. . . .

Nope. Filled it up twice over the weekend at $3.79 per gallon. First time was just over 25 gallons and the second was 18.5
Averaged just over 7 mpg.

Our high here last summer for the tourist trade was $4.29. I am sure they will make it higher than that this Summer as our low for the Winter was around $3.29 at most of the major stations. One place up in the canyon I heard was above $5 a gallon but I can't say that for a fact as I never drove up there to see.

maybe we all need to recalibrate the fuel systems to burn that good old midwestern corn based alcohol...considering converting mine to E85 105 octane and cheaper than high octane fuel.

Hey Boys, I remmeber saying back in 74' that if gas gets up to $1.00 per gallon "I'll sell my cars and boats and just ride my bike".
Well, I only have added my Cobra to the fleet and still do ride my bike, but just for exercise. I hope the government ups my social secuity check to cover the increase in gas before I die.
Oh well, I can dream!

Gas prices change here almost every day. The price will go up 10 cents per litre (40 cents per gallon) one day then begin to slide a cent or two each day, then bounce back up another 10 or 12 cents. Regular is selling for about $4.20 a gallon right now but it could be a lot more tomorrow.
I don't do a lot of mileage in my Cobra so I don't think that the higher price of gas will change my driving habits much. The price of gas hurts me a lot more when I fill up the Explorer however.

gas
The cheapest I remember gas was 19.9 cents a gallon. When it hit $1.00 a gallon I wanted to scream, now I'd be happy for $2.00 a gallon. Sadly we have the oil in our own backyard, just aren't allowed to play in it. I'm wondering how high it will have to go before people change their minds. There are tests out now that say E-85 is actually worse than modern gasoline.

No way
The cost of fuel for a specially car is probably less than 5-10 % of the cost of ownership given the low number of miles driven...but...it provides 90% of the fun....don't worry, be happy.
