Question Starting build soon question ?

Hi guys,I will receive my roller chassis kit next week and was wondering if I could get some pointers where to start and the best order to build. My Cobra is from D&D (not too many around) 'cause it's a small manufacturer in Quebec, canada and is basically like a FFR with sheet metal to install, etc. If anybody with the same type of kit put something together on how to build(order) I would really appreciate if you can share your knowledge with me. I'm not mechanically challenged but I like to follow good procedures. I want to minimize removing parts 'cause i got ahead of myself. First time builder so a little nervous though excited. Thanks to anybody who will share his knowledge and experience with me.

Michel

You will be doing that for sure.

1) Assemble everything except for carpet, and make sure everything fits.
2) Take it for a ride. Check to make sure no interference with any moving parts.
3) Body work and paint prep (disassembly optional, dependant upon painter)
4) Paint
5) Reassemble and install interior.

First of all, make sure that you get a build manual from the manufacture. That would be my first suggestion. After that, hopefully, a few D&D owners will chime in and maybe throw in a few ideas. Not many (if any) build manuals are perfect but it is the best place to start.

I just picked up my EVO 5 from D&D a few weeks ago and am sitting in a position similiar to yours. Unfortunatly they do not offer any type of build manual which would definetly make a world of difference. I have looked around at other similiar manufactures and thought about buying their manual just to use as a guideline.

Try this site for a lot of info. He basically built a manual for all of us to use.
It is a Lone Star kit but you could probably use the free info for a basic guide line.

Worked rally well for me.

Have Fun!!!!

What area are you from? I know only one guy in Wasaga beach Ontario that is almost finished with his EVO 5. He's building more like a autocross car and his electrical system will be different from mine but I know I can always go to him for questions if I need too, very nice guy. I will be using the FFR manual and the FFR forum for my build since all these kits are pretty much alike.
I appreciate your replies and maybe we can help each other in the futur since we're building the same kit, mine suppose to come next week so we'll see what happen, thanks.
