Default Think about Run n Gun 2008 (Oct 8-11)

It is time to start thinking about this years Run and Gun Nationals October 8-11, 2008. We have some great things happening this year. Foremost will be our Manufacturers Row and here is the list of Manufacturers that have already agreed to be here and or paid for their space (in the order they were received):

B&B Manufacturing https://www.bandbroadster.com/

Race Car Replica's (RCR) http://www.race-car-replicas.com/

Backdraft Racing http://www.backdraftracing.com

Shell Valley https://www.shellvalley.com/

Superformance http://www.superformance.com/

Roush http://store.roushperformance.com/

Brunton Stalker http://www.bruntonauto.com/

Mongoose Racing http://www.mongoosems.com

Tipo Dio http://www.kitcar.com/dio/dio-history.html

Dragon Motorcars/Chestnut Motorsports http://www.dragonmotorcars.com/

Fastlane Racing

and more manufacturers to come...

This is a great opportunity for our Spectators and potential buyers of a Kit Car/Replica to compare manufacturers side by side. Take a test ride at noon and after the Run n Gun track sessions are over. Spend some time at the track watching the participants or attend one of the many seminars scheduled during our three day event, check with our vendors and check out their products. Take a cruise on Thursday and attend the Hot Rod and Muscle Car Show Saturday Morning. This is going to be our most complete event ever and we will be updating our web site and the news as we get closer to opening registration.

Add Dragon Motor Cars, and my new company, Chesnut Motorsports to the list! Run n Gun is a great event. I believe that it will become "THEE" kit car event of the year!

John,

Interesting, what will your new company manufacture? coupes and roadsters?

We do have several replica NH drives, cookouts, and breakfasts. We would love to have Dragon along?
Our monthly breakfasts are in Concord. Maybe the group could come up to your facility one Saturday after the breakfast once this snow is gone of course.

Default Clois and the gang doing great work

Clois you guys are doing a great job already. Alot is going to depend on my job and how much gas is. If I can get John C to get a LOOONNNGGG trailer with enough room for a small cobra I might come. If gas goes to$4.00 per gallon, I will be passing on this. $1,000.00 for fuel each way is going to be tough to eat. We will see what happens. Sound like a great event again. Rick L.

Hey Rick, I will do eveything I can to make sure you make it!!! I think that we will have a big caravan going!!!!

Jeff thanks for the invite. I would love to come along. And you are more than welcome to see my facility. I will tell you right now that it is small. I have a 7 bay garage at my home that I work out of. I design and fabricate my cars (fiberglass too). When complete I take my molds and jigs to Shell Valley where they manufacture my kits for me. This allows me to do what I like best, design and create.

My new cars under Chesnut Motorsports are a Cobra roadster and next a Daytona coupe. I use an aluminum backbone chassis of my design. It uses C5/C6 suspension, brakes, wheels/tires (18in), differential, and steering. I have had shorter axles made, a new steering rack to keep the Cobra dimensions. I have converted the Vette diff from a transaxle to accept a driveshaft. Any engine/trans combo will fit.
My body is a simple skin since it doesnt provide any structural support. It is hand laid and uses 1 layer of glass, a 2nd layer of carbon fiber, and a 3rd layer of glass. The body is light and stiff.
My chassis design allows for greater cockpit and footbox room, again with the stock body. My floor height is 4 inches lower than a stock Cobra. I put the drivers floor at this heigh (5 inch ground clearance) The passenger floor I put at the stock Cobra height. My fuel tank is under the passenger floor. This keeps weight low and in the center of the car. Front and rear replaceable crush zones are incorporated.
The result, with a small block is a 1900lb Cobra. I am using Shell Valley Cobra and Daytona parts. Again the body is to my specs. I will sell individual components or a complete kit. My complete Cobra kit, with new 2004 Vette parts is $29,900. I plan to start shipping them to customers in June. For this kit the drivetrain, wheels, tires, and paint are all that are needed to complete. I will soon have all of the info and pictures of the car under construction soon. I will debute the car and a rolling chassis at Cartlisle.
I love to build unique, high performance cars. I do this for fun and I am having a blast!
