Talking New Corvette owners

Lookin for some good info here. As a lifetime Ford owner driver etc. I seriously have never owned any car that was not a Ford. It is a family thing (A Plan discount SWEET!)

Anyway thinkin bout pullin the trigger on a new Vette. My question is what did anyone/everyone have to pay? (2007/2008 not ZO6) You see with A Plan (Ford) you dont negotiate you get a set price, way under invoice.

i was lookin at a new vette because of 0% for 60 months, I was hoping to get one nicely equipped for 45,000 OTD am I dreaming? Help! FFF aka Ryan

Ryan,All Ford here too,but I went to the dark side also, Corvette. I was looking at new Vets last april 2007 .The best price for a near base model with the little fees was 43500.00 ,My best friend is a dealer, that was near invoice, Then. So you might just a little weak at 45000. with more opts. I bought a never in the rain ,2000 with 31000 mi. 6 speed. It can get over 30 mpg. on the freeway.I wanted a driver and it get used .It saved me $20,000. to put toward my SPF #2773. The new vets are VERY nice cars, you'll love it. Jerry

Get on corvetteforum.com. Several of the site's dealer sponsors have on-going killer deals. I haven't checked lately but a base model 08 coupe 430hp 6 speed was going for $39.5 a couple months ago. Times are tight and the hi-end dealerships are hurting. If you're diligent you can even find $10K off a new Z06 The out of state dealer you buy from can even have it shipped to the local dealership of your choice. I bought my Z06 from Kerbeck in Atlantic City and at the time saved $15K off local pricing. With a coupe you can expect 30 mpg on a trip. I got 27 mpg on a 1500 mile stint in the Z06 (my daily driver)!

btw... don't drive the Z06 or you'll never be happy with anything less, stock: 11.7 @ 125+.. GM's official numbers too.

I went to the darkside. haven't regretted yet although I do miss the cobra, just do your homework. There are new vettes out there worth the money, 07s can be founf for as much as $17000 off and 08s starting at $40000 I paid little over $70000 out the door for my 08 Z06 at Christmas.

I Love Cobras and I love Vettes. My new Cobra, almost finished, is a Vette with Snake skin. Aluminum backbone chassis. All new Vette suspension, brakes, wheels, tires, diff(which I have converted to accept a driveshaft). Any engine/trans combo will fit but I am using an LS6 with a T56 6speed that I have. My body is an unstressed skin. Its a fiberglass/carbon fiber hybrid. Total weight is 1900lbs! My Cobra is all Vette but almost 1400lbs lighter.
I will show the car at Carlisle and am offering it as a kit for $29,900. Thats complete with all new Vette parts, minus drivetrain, wheels/tires and paint. I am considering offering it as a Turnkey minus also.
The new Vette is obviously a great car. Happy hunting.

BlackSnake, while not close to you, a good reference for Corvette pricing is Ken Fichtner in MT

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1953797

On the East Coast, I bought my new 2002 Z06 at Kerbeck in Atlantic City NJ:

http://www.kerbeck.com/

Cobra & Corvette, both are great for different purposes and reasons. However, the Cobra wins the WOW factor.

We have a local Cobra's & Vettes group that gets together once a month to play. I can tell you the new Z06 is fast. But not quite fast enough.

SO far the dealers I have talked to asked me if I was smokin crack cuz the Vette hasnt been at 0% since 9/11. I though too good to be true it must be?? But now I am hooked and will keep lookin in MT ,,Jersey wherever~~ ! I have the bug. THanks again for the info.

Bought my daily driver this past November...a one owner '02 Z06 with barely 19K on the clock. Paid $30K. The same car today can be found for around $28K if you shop long enough. Great deals are all over for nice C5s.

They quit making corvettes back in 1971. Anything after that is just a Cadillac. Creature features, comfort, not what a corvette is supposed to be. I'll take a 60 for a ride any day over a new one and have more fun. JMO Russ

Okay, okay. You're killing me, Smalls!

Take underrated 405HP LS6...throw into 3,100lb wrapper...add 6 spd and 3.42 gearing...slap on Goodyear F1 Supercar tires...beats 99.999% of what's on the road today (1/4 mile or road course), and that includes at least 99% (that's not a stretch, either) of the Cobras from CC members. It's that good a performer and that tight. Oh yeah...almost forgot...it's FACTORY STOCK. You have to drive one hard to make a believer out of you. Take a C6 and add another 100 HP. OMG...Katie bar the door!

The C3's were all sleds. Welcome to the 21st century. Flame suit on.

yea ... what Dean said and I'm the other 0.001% that he's talking about it.

Bring on that 69 L88 and I'll show you my brake lights, on the track of course

I have both, or should I say my wife has the vette. An 01. Not a bad car, just a 350 hp auto. Nice cruiser with good gas mileage. It is more of a digital experience where as a cobra has been described as an analog experience. If I had to choose one as a toy car it would be the cobra without a doubt.

Hey, if you can afford both, great! The C6's are wonderful. A friend purchased a new-at-the-time '06 Z06, paid over $5K or $10K over MSRP. Even the $40,000-$45,000 base C6cars are attractive and powerful.

The Corvette Forum site has many participating dealers who will deliver your new Vette to your local dealer, or you can pick it up, and do it at the cheapest price, because they're all competing for the same business.

Default I just got my 03 ZO6

Its been 3 months since I purchased the car. And I love it, it's stroked and blown, got 900 hp and you won't believe how easy it is to drive around in town. It's got lot of mods. You will definately love the new ones, however don't sell the cobra to get one. Have them both in your garage, like I did.
