Yes, the cars were to be imported from AC when Jimmy Price had the operation, the Lubinsky double cross eliminated the deal. Brian Angliss walked away circa 1996 and has NO connection to AC or Autokraft in any way. The ACs were to be handled by a new dealer network, not the SPF dealers.

Yep, that's the car alright. -I remember the wooden rims!
It looked like a heck of a nice car. Do you know what happened to it / who owns it today?
Is this the only car that was completed and delivered to the U.S.? Rumor was there were a couple more, but I never saw pics.

Regarding the AC factory in Bridgeport CT, I contacted the CT Dept of Economic & Community Development and received the following reply:
" The Client never provided required documentation. Request was closed out. "

Thats the problem with a good con game, the pesky paper work some folks just gotta see. Darn, time to move on to greener pastures...
Which reminds me, at times I find myself 'bothered' by those pesky customers interupting my day, trying to give me money, can't they see I'm working here?

Trevor, surely by now someone has been able to drop by the Malta factory and confirm that all of this is unsupported innuendo, and that the shop is humming along and churning out new Cobras by the boatload? Please update us as soon as you can confirm this.

Ned
Maybe they took pictures of the Malta factory from space but you will have to be patient as the shuttle just got back last night and they may have some other more important duties to perform first.

There is a silver lining on this dark cloud....
I always like to look at the upside. There's a silver lining on this dark cloud.
Luby will probably sell the rights to the name "AC" to whoever will bail him out of the next jail he's in. (That's how Detomaso bought Carrozzeria Ghia, he waited until the owner , R. Trujillo, was in the pokey and later sold Ghia to Ford for a huge profit).
My suggestion for a buyer is C.Shelby. Why? Because he can probably get it for peanuts and bring history full circle by making A.C.-branded Cobras again.
And then he could have Superformance make them.
I don't think it's correct what one forumite said, that a car company "loses the right" to make cars if they don't make them for a certain number of years. If that was true, than why would VW have paid millions to buy the name Bugatti? Or Spyker resurrected that long dorment name? Old car company names are still worth money as long as they strike a favorable impression in the minds of consumers, and "A.C." is still a good name aside from the dirty fingerprints left on the firm's history by Mr. Lubinsky.
(Also there's one other more remote reason Shelby should buy A.C., and that is his claim to own the shape of the Cobra. If that battle ever reaches court, and Shelby owns A.C. and the judge determines that A.C. owns the shape and Shelby owns A.C. well, then, as the Brits say, no worries "because bob's your uncle." )

So, errr, where's the silver lining then...????
I can only see clouds that are as black as your hat. As for "getting it (the AC name) for peanuts" - ah well we all need a good laugh from time to time, do we not? I think the expression is 'Dream On'....

A big thank you to my unpaid secretary for booking my flights - cheers m'dear :-) However, you've overlooked the horror of trying to drive to Luton (are you serious?) and then you put me on a RYAN(we hate all our clients equally)AIR flight. Well thank you. Its 5-star travel for moi I'll have you know, wot with being a world-famous prize-winning orfer like wot I am. (Anyway I'm currently en route, cycling through France on the way to Malta though I'd appreciate it if you could post some sandwiches to my next overnight stop, as I'm running low....and these new cycle clips are really cutting in now)
For the benefit of any non-UK readers we now have a brand new whizzy $9-billion Terminal 5 at Heathrow which was opened properly yesterday, only to find it does not work. Thus nobody is geting in or out of our illustrious country or if they do, they can forget the idea of having any luggage. People have been sent text messages saying their flight is cancelled when it's not, and others have flown to the Caribbean to join cruise ships but sans their belongings - who needs clothes on a cruise ship anyway...? And so the Empire slips slowly below the waves, becoming a third-world nation under the inspired leadership (sic) of a Labour government. What a surprise...fly here at your own risk folks.

Trevor,
I loved hearing the clip of your transport guy telling people that if they fly from terminal 5 to "only bring carry-on luggage"!
Of course here in the colony, we had the Denver billion dollar airport with the luggage system that didn't work either!
Luby will only part with AC when he is hanging off a cliff with one hand holding the title and the other slipping off the rope. It is the only thing of value he has left from his "house of cards" empire.
So Ryanair uses Northwest's motto also, "Northwest, we're not happy until you're not happy!!!"

Dr. Rick,
Shouldn't that be, "... clean face (or helmet) shield"? That is, is a windshield necessary? Most of my favorite cars didn't have windshields.
i had forgotten that wonderful Northwest motto.
Indeed, Luby (not Lloyd, RIP) is washed-up, perhaps on the shores of Tripoli. THe internet will keep us safe.

I am a frequent flyer and I love that motto. Not to go too far off-topic here, but my biggest problems seem to be with US Air.

Backtracking a tad here, but I was pondering the state of the universe should Mr.CS take over control of the SAAC Registry (I know but bear with me...) and then purchase the rights to the AC Cars Ltd heritage, with its chassis register etc etc. Not suggesting that anything untoward might result from all that, but has anyone seen the Lord of The Rings trilogy? One trademark to rule the world, two trademarks to bind them: three trademarks......hmm. Sleep well....

Trevor, are you pondering AL and CS crossing paths, maybe doing a "deal"? AL screwing CS, or CS screwing AL? And SAAC in the middle! Yikes, I am getting a headache just thinking of all the possibilities!

AL & CS have crossed paths before....can`t see that happening again!
IM(v)HO, There isn`t a currently existing 'manufacturer' who should be seen as the 'saviour' of AC, as, to me, the Fat Lady has long-since finished her last encore(which may have been one or 2 too many), left the building and is half-way through her 3rd toyboy on a golden beach somewhere.

Not suggesting that any kind of joint deal is struck - the operation in Malta is run under the title of AC Motor Holdings (or similar) so that's a whole other business. But the sale of a company title - AC Cars Ltd - is a different matter. Wonder what that piece of paper might be worth to a third party with a reason to buy it. Everything has a price (even me). But I'm only thinking out loud - I doubt it could ever happen. Maybe in a parallel universe somewhere?
