For Sell, Cheap: Genuine, Authentic, REAL Shelby
Little is known about the brief alliance between Carroll Shelby and AMC, but no one can deny the impact of the high-performance vehicle now known as the Shelby-AMC 390 Gremlin.
Tired of Ford's antics and bastardization of the GT-350 and GT-500's, Mr. Shelby turned to then cash-cow AMC to develop their next generation street/strip/road racer.
This is your chance to own a piece of the Shelby pie:
For sale is an original, authentic, real Shelby-AMC 390 Gremlin, complete with an original Xerox photocopy of the salvage title and fully documented racing history. This beautiful, stunning high-performance vehicle comes with a full-tilt 390 with dual Paxton superchargers, original top-loader four speed, IRS and four wheel disc brakes. 0-60 times recorded during a R&T test was 0.8s and 60-0 was 0.2 seconds---that'll slam your head back into the headrest of the custom bucket seats (literally, a bucket), and slam your face into the windshield.
Don't miss your chance to own part of the Shelby-AMC 390 Gremlin legacy!!!
For more photos and detailed specifications and performance history, please go to www.youcannottakethisseriously.com
Bidding starts at $1M...
Do I hear $2M?
$2M?

I will accept as many $5k deposits as I can...
...you can deposit them directly into my Nigerian bank account.
By the way, did I mention that this is the Shelby-AMC 390 Gremlin formerly owned by Phil Spector and Bill Cosby?

Now if I put down $5k, can I pay the rest within 30 days?
Ohh...wait. We already had a thread on that...didn't we?
Best we not do it that way.

If you send me $5k deposit on this car, you can take as LONG as you want to pay the balance. Bid with confidence that, given your $5k deposit, you can spend your lifetime paying off the balance (and trying to find me...).
Uh, no liabilities---uh, er---I mean, wives for deposit, please.
Some of you may have noticed that the Shelby-AMC 390 Gremlin is not in the SAAC Shelby registry---yet. As soon as SAI gains control of the SAAC registry you will find the Shelby-AMC 390 Gremlin in the official registry as CSX-WTF01.
Yes, that's right, this is car number 1 of the lineage. Actually, only 44 were built, so this is really, really, really rare. (As opposed to just really, really rare). The remaining 43 are in an undisclosed warehouse left over from the Shelby-AMC 390 Gremlin racing days in the early 80's.
By the way, anyone know where I can get some cheap AMC Gremlins and some Shelby stickers? Preference is for purple Gremlins---uh, I mean Guardsman Blue Gremlins. I'll pay cash ($50) once I get one of these $5k deposits...

Doug
The Shelby Gremlin did have some serious racing history. One year it won the Pikes Peak Hillclimb, the Dakar Ralley and the Submarine Races.

I'm holding out for a used Shelby-Casio--but only if it has racing or pit crew history...
And yes, reverse gear only and missing all but one tooth which broke off on the last lap, and the driver had to rotate the driveshaft by hand! What a win! It was close, but it wouldn't have been such a close race if the driver hadn't stopped in the pit "for a spot of water" every lap. Those were the days!
So, I've got several $5k deposits, two wives, a house, a car collection and a used Timex. Come ON you guys, this is REAL Shelby history here! BID! BID! BID!
Do I hear $2M?

I have a collection of AMX's and the large photo that was show is the AMX GT, there was only one made and it was later destroyed by the factory, it was only used for the auto show circuit that year. That was a styling exercise done by Dick Teague and it is ware the idea for the gremlin came from, And AMC did build 15 factory equipped 401 4 speed Gremlins and if you thought it was embarrassing to get beat in a race try getting beat badly by a gremlin. I have never heard of any colaberation with AMC and Shelby.
Now Hurst and AMC did get together and build some really mean little machines.

You never heard of the Shelby-AMC 390 Gremlin?!?
What about the Shelby-AMC 454 "Birdcage" Pacer? I've got one of THOSE for sale, too...

You think thats rare, I have a really, really, really, really, really rare car for sale. It is 1 of a kind. It is the only True Blue, 03 Mustang GT, with Tinted Windows, with 3650 tranny, with 46,000 miles, in Lavon TX for sale without a for sale sign on it. I suppose I could part with it for as low as $100K.
