Impossible to find? Weldwood Landau Top & Trim
Upholstering the dash. Trying to find DAP Weldwood Landau Top & Trim High Heat Resistant Contact Cement.
I'm not having much luck...
...and it's not just because I'm in California...
...can't seem to get web vendors that appear to carry it to return my calls.
Nobody locally stocks this stuff.
Any suggestions?
DD

Hhmm, 12 views and no responses?

Does DAP still make this stuff?

DAP dealer locator won't tell you what stores carry it.
Baer didn't return my call---now I see why.
Thanks for the perfectfit link. I'll try them.

Turns out Perfectfit isn't authorized to ship it.
Placed an order with Baer Fabrics and paid $10.75 for shipping. I assume this means they CAN ship it---somehow. Anything can happen.
I've got my dash stripped and cleaned, ready to upholster. I also plan on using the DAP/Landau for gluing my heat barrier material to the cockpit side of my firewall.

If you're lucky, you'll land a kid behind the counter that is mostly listening to his Ipod who will just take the stuff, stick it in a box, and ship it out to you without engaging his brain....

Turns out shipping restrictions into California are by county. Here are restricted counties
for Weldwood HHR contact cement: Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego.
Santa Cruz is not one of them (whew!).
Ordered from Baer Fabrics. Should be here in a week or so.

That's good to know. Ya know, if I was on the other end working in the fabric store when you called from, say, Los Angeles, and I said "OK Doug, that's 123 Main Street, Los Angeles CA ... by the way, what County is that?" And you said, "Why that's beautiful Santa Cruz County!" I wouldn't bat an eye, nor would I even think twice about it.....

Nice job. You don't need no vapor mask, just hold your breath. Ya know, like touching off a halon system....
