Exclamation Shelby 85th Birthday

I just received my June issue of Mustang/Ford trader and they have a write up about Shelby's 85th birthday. Some interesting things such as Allen Grants crew chief on his 289 Cobra, Executioner, was George Lucas. Lucas later said that he patterned the John Millner character in American Grafitti after Allen. The first man to drive a 427 cobra in a race was John Morton. The only mention of Pete Brock was that Morton won the SCCA 2.5 Liter Trans-Am Championship in Peter Brock's BRE 510 Datsuns in the early 1970s. No mention of Brock at all in the lines about the Daytona Coupes. Really sad that Shelby has gotten this way and is tearing down a lot of the respect people have for him.

I don't believe that I said anything about Shelby writing the story. I have always respected him, but the past few years I am beginning to question some of his stuff.
