Hood Latch Receivers
Hi Everyone,
Well I'm at it again. As I get things ready for paint, I still find things that I would to do differently from what the assembly manual says should be done.
In this case, it is the hood latches or, more specifically, the receivers for the hood latches.
B&B suggests just using a die grinder to cut a slot in the lip around the hood cowl for the latch paddles to slid into. While that will work, it also doesn't give as finished look as I would like.
I have thought about using something like the seat belt bevels to cover the hole but the curvature of the lip presents somewhat of a problem in achieving a nice finished look. I have also thought about using some sort of angle iron that I could screw onto the lip. I've checked some of the websites to see if any of them carry anything like the L bracket that is used specifically for the hood latches but haven't found anything other than the cams or locking latches.
Anyone one have ideas on how to finish the latch receivers off or a good source for the L bracket?
Any pictures that you may have would be muchly appreciated as well.
