Default side pipe clearance
How far away from body does everyone recommend keeping sidepipes out?

Mounting them and need distance?

I've mounted mine about 1" from the body. You need enough space to slide your hand in there with a wash cloth without skinning your knuckles. you also ned a bit of space for airflow or the heat from the pipes can discolour your paint.
