Default Anyone using Classic Chambered exhaust?

I'm getting ready to get my side pipes. I'm having ERA quote their pipes constructed with "classic chambered exhaust".

Anyone using these? I understand they'll be louder than glasspacks, but how loud? Annoying to the driver loud, or annoying to the neighbors loud?

I'm running a 302 at 10:1 with a moderate cam---which may leave some of you BB guys wondering: will it be loud enough?

DD
Here's the web sitefor classic chambered exhaust, if you're interested: Classic Chambered Exhaust Inc. - Home Page

I've got the 3" version and they're loud as hell, wake up the neighborhood loud, pi$$ off the local redneck constable loud. I luv 'em for that feature alone. Besides, I didn't want to leave that much HP on the table with a more "muffled" set.

I ran them On my NAF FIA. Loved the sound, made my sb sound nasty. They were louder than glasspacks but not noticably in my opinion. I always wore ear plugs if I went on a long cruise the constant droning for a couple of hours really got to my hearing after awhile.

Still pondering. I think I'd like the McNasty sound from my 302---which I can't imagine is going to be as gnarly loud as a BB or a stroker.

You don't really need the 3". Even w/a radical 302 the 2 1/2" version should flow right well. That'll tone her down a little too.

I'd also point out that Dave is running 3" chambered inserts inside of 4" OD lake pipes, not the "typical" Cobra sidepipe setup - no packing.

I knew they were going to be LOUD, but he needed performance at all costs. Dave, you dynoed the car after the new mufflers didn't you? I remember him reporting some very significant gains.

MINE DEVELOPED A BAD RATTLE SOUND ON RELEASE OF THROTTLE ON BOTH SIDES AFTER JUST ONE SEASON. Still waiting for Eric from Performance Engineering in Ross Ohio to call me back on his warranty fix. Its been 6 months now.

Yes sir, they woke up the motor quite nicely I gained abot 65 HP..

I don't have the fiberglass packing as Iron mentioned. I do stay away from cruising the ocean front strip.. They'd give me 3 years to life for annoying the tourists.

It won't sound like a BB. At 10:1 and a moderate cam it will definitely make people take notice that you have something under the hood. I ran the CCE's for two years before selling the car. They defintely "woke" up the motor and I had to re-tune the Webers some.

They'll definitely annoy any "greenies"
