Anybody want to go in on buying Hurricaine?
I have the tools/skills/location to build them. Beaverun close by for track testing/R+D work .Just need some investors to make it happen. I also have molds for the Slab, FIA, DragonSnake+ LeMans hardtops, and Daytona Coupe. All models of the Cobra would be covered instantly. Anybody?

I kind of thought of the same thing Bruce. Kind of an owner/owned business.
Problem is, I have most of my money tied up in my car!! So it would depend on how much each investor would need to cough up.

I have all of their corperate info. I was trying to help a buyer come together with Mike and Rich earlier this year. If anyone is serious about this, I will be happy to talk about a buy out. The company was profitable with plenty of orders. They had some overhead issues that the new ower may not have. Send me a PM if you are interested in tossing around some ideas. I would love to own a cobra company.

dlampe and mr bruce:
Post some general information about the sale/offer: current liabilities, warranties, back orders, overhead, profit margins, etc.
What kind of structure? LLC, C Corp?
It's not just the purchase price, there is new inventory, marketing and sales support, shop overhead, employee salaries, and etc. Figure you need 2x, 3x, 4x to keep it going?
How many investors do you want in the structure? It has to be managable. Future $ contributions? If you need 4x with 5 investors, that's $100k each.
We would all like to be in this business, but it's a tough market against FFR, SPF, Shelby, and Kirkham.
I'm sure you have lots of interest, (I even thought abut it!) but this will weed out those who are serious.
Just my $0.02

sounds like maybe this could go somewhere with Mr Bruce handling all the glass work thats a big hurdle right there
It is a novel idea owning a composite car company I thought about calling mike to discuss what the profit margins are, speaking with jason he said a car would be mocked up in less than 2 weeks with 2 men working on it (160 hrs)seems a little high but with better tooling and equipment that could be shortened
I know from conversations with mike that dean and jay n both had input on improving the design of the kit
I'm biased but hurricane and there owners provided service and quality second to none

I would love to be a part of this, and I actually looked into it myself. My only problem is I don't have the money to buy a Cobra, let alone the company.

good points
one and all. I would think that any possible buyer would ask one very simple question. "all things equal, customer service, quality, delivery, on going business properly funded...almost same everything...how many of you would buy a Hurricane car in the next twelve months?" That is a question that any potential buyer should ask. If I were to venture a half million investment (minimum to do it right) I would.

The best way to make a "small fortune" in the Cobra replica business is to start out with a "large one!"
Be careful what you wish for.....

Yep, with 500K into it, you only need to sell 150 cars to break even.

That would be very easy in a strong year for any of the top replica manufacturers at this point... something to chew on.

I asked a simple question and recieved a bunch of opinions not pertaing to the question...gimme a break here and let me form an idea. Some answers please from the supposed buyers that this question was asked..no dealers, builders or suppiers need to respomd unless you want to throw $$$ at this situation
