Maxx and Steve,

First of all, thanks to Maxx and Steve for bringing me up to speed.

I was not aware of anything about oil changes done somewhere other than at home and have not seen or read the warranty sheet Steve sent. I was glad to see it and appreciate Steve and Maxx calling my attention to it.

The only experience I have had with the Roush warranty is what I have been given by the Roush dealer and what has happened to me personally.

The only thing I received from the Roush dealer when I purchased the engine was a bill of sale and warranty registration forms. I filled out my warranty registration, sent it to Roush, and they sent warranty claim forms for future use, the engine dyno sheet and engine plaque back to me.

When I had problems I called my dealer, and they told me they would need to get approval before we did any repairs. When they got the approval, they told me I could bring the car to them (100 miles away) or take the carburetor off and send it to them. As I mentioned, I took the carburetor off, sent it to the dealer, and I suppose they sent it to Roush. Regardless, I received a new Holley carburetor in a Holley box in about two weeks.

I have never been asked about oil changes or maintenance records. It appears they could have asked for them, but they didn't.

Again, thanks to Steve and Maxx for bringing to my attention to what I should have known before.

Jody

BTW...I am not sure if the carburetor fixed my problem as I have not installed it yet.......and .......crow is not bad once you get past the feathers!

Roush #1,

I am not surprised how your issue was handled and I suspect they would strive to treat all their customers that way. BUT if push came to shove Roush has stipulations and in fact when I called Roush with a FAKE problem the first question the lady asked was who installed the engine, I told her I did and she said their is no warranty. Now working through your dealer obviously has more horspower.

Prior to I obtaining my car PE found a stumble etc but he worked through Roush and they sent a new carb to PE and ever since I got the engine has been flawless except.

As we all know the best warranty is one you never need!! I did call the tech again at Roush and he said there was no issues with me changing the oil keep receipts etc. I found it amuzing someone at Roush has more confidence with a 16 year old at jiffy lube changing the oil then an owner who is confident he can change himself.

Alright now I am lit with a hangover, so take this with a grain of salt, if Roush were so great why the heck would have they not tracked down the engines they sold, which stumbled and contacted the owners who spent $14K or more and said hey, if you are experiencing this problem it is not normal and we have a revised carburator if you would like to exchange yours. That is what we should expect with the engines and cars, we all have in excess of $45K by the time we are done and some of us alot more!!!

It is what SPF did with their brakes issue which I am sure some of you guys have heard about, and that is what is expected when we are talking $40K rollers.

Any suppliers reading this, take note this is a hobby and customers pay a premium, so customer service should also be above average.

As far as KC, if I were to buy a KC I would only use the Arkansas outlet! and that is all I will comment.
