Paint Color Question
Can anyone tell me the exact color of the 289 FIA Cobra that Gurney and Grant drove in the 1964 Targa Florio? They piloted the #146 car. Is it Viking Blue? Is there another, better description?

Its Viking Blue, sometimes called Princess blue. They say Shel changed the name to Viking blue on the Cobra because Princess did'nt sound very manly.

Thanks! I thought it might be Viking blue, but wasn't sure. Some of the photos are not very sharp and the light can change the color. It looks kinda like the Sebring blue that some Corvettes used, too.

HPIM2159 Pic
Allan A,
I assume your build image HPIM2159 is the same Ditzler Viking Blue code you reference in the above post? Just want to make sure as I'm having samples shot right now for me.
Thanks,
Doug

This has always been an issue. Back in the day, they took standard colors and everyone made their own mix variation in the shop. Guardsman Blue is a perfect example. There is no "patent" Cobra color that I know of.

Doug,
Yes HPIM2159 is the color.
Scott,
7034 is a leaf spring car from SAI, the car has a 5 speed TKO II with a Gessford built Iron Block 347 with IDA's. Here is some more info.
