Default New Cobra Power Plant??

I stumbled on a show about the new Cobra EVX and though it seems fast and fun....I'm not sure I would like one without some "VROOOOOM"???

Unless there's been some huge breakthrough in battery technology, they must add many hundreds of pounds to the car to be able to generate that many hours of energy. I can't imagine going 0-150 mph.......silently! Very weird!

The car weighs 2200# which they say is 200# lighter than the original 427??

You are right.....it was weird watching them do donuts and burnouts with absolutely NO NOISE!!!

They said their 0-60 times were consistently 3.2 seconds and range was 125 miles on a full charge!!

Original 427s were in the 2600 lbs range.

Electric motors make instant torque. The off the line accelleration is like nothing you've ever felt. And, yes it's weird to blast off with no noise!

Hey Sal......Coosawjack (aka: Marauderjack)!!

How are you doing in Florida?? Probably HOT like here in SC??

Yep....1000 ft. lbs. of torque shold get things done in short order....but the no "VROOOM" would have to be overcome with a loud engine recording synchronized with acceleration!!

Hey Jack!

Well, that would be a LEGIT use for those recorder boxes that ricers put in their cars to make them sound like V8s .

They claimed 1000 lbs of torque. The broad was a little on the dizzy side, guess it was the fact she was blond. A Cobra without the rumble of a V8 is like having your Cobra neutered!.
