Help me! I'm Desperate.....
..... for a set of brake pads to fit Wilwood 6 piston calipers
Problem is, I'm in Tooele, Utah. I thought I had enough pad left for Miller, but I ran out. I'm down to the backing plates - literally.
I need just about any pad that will fit the standard Wilwood 6 piston caliper; caliper type 7112 or 7212 . Cotter pin type or Bolt type, either will work.
I'd be willing to drive a long way to get these part if anybody can get them tonight or early tomorrow AM.
Please help a poor race car driver who's down on his luck. Will drive for parts.
I'm pretty sure I have a new set sitting on my front porch. In Colorado. I ordered them a couple of weeks ago.
I'll keep checking here until late if you don't want to call long distance. I'll call you. Cell 719-649-9519.

This is truly an amazing story. We're so impressed, we just can't get over it. So, here's the story.
My wife and I came to Miller Motorsports Park with NASA. Two weeks ago, I inspected the brakes, and they looked OK. Maybe the pads were a little thin, but not bad. So I called Gordon and ordered a new set. I figured I'd change them when I got back.
The short of it is, Miller is a lot tougher on brakes than I expected. So now it's Sat night, and the brakes sound funny. I took the wheel off, and found no pad left! None! I was down to the backing plate.
Shoot, now what do I do? Normally, I would just call it a day, and go home. Bad luck and poor planning for me. Live and learn. Chalk it up to another learning experiance.
But, and here's the tough part - it was Father's Day. My son and his family live in Ogden. We were planning on spending the day together and getting him out on the track for a ride along. Now we're hosed.
So I posted here, hoping someone could help. And some one did. Larry Johnson called me Sunday morning to get the poop. He called John at Kirkham Motorsports, and John called me. We agreed that they had what I needed. So John called Dave, and he agreed to meet me at the shop.
So I shoot on over to Provo, and Dave is there. We go back to the shop area and he shows me the parts (there's a place I could spend a few hours in). They're the right ones. He hands them too me (listen to this) with no payment! He says I can work it out with John later. And I walk out with the parts.
I couldn't thank Dave enough. He said it was no big deal, since he lived close by. But it was a big deal to us. We got back to the track, installed the parts, and everything went perfect the rest of the day. My son got some track time. My grand sons got to look at cool race cars and cheer from the stands; they even got a ride around the paddock. We had a wonderfull lunch. And everything was perfect. Probably one of the best Fathers Day's I'v ever had.
I can't thank my Cobra friends enough for all their help. I don't have enough words for the feelings Michele and I have today. From the bottom of our hearts, thanx.

Bob,
Glad that we were able to help get things back on track (literally, hehe). Next time you are in town and have a some time, please come and visit the shop so we can show you around.
Thanks to Larry Johnson for seeing this thread and calling us so that we could help.
