First Cobra drive
After nearly three years of build, I finally drove my ERA Cobra yesterday. It was absolutely thrilling to run that sucker up Rt. 70, then after gassing up I drove several more miles down 68. Everyone I passed either gave the thumbs up or waved. If it wasn't for a soft brake pedal, I'd have stayed out all evening (the rain came a little later). All other systems worked great (temp never exceeded 190, no leaks, etc.) The wait was worth it and I can't wait till I take it out again after I fix the brakes. New pics are in my gallery.

very nice! Your car really lives up to the thread posted last week about how nice ERA's are.

Congrats! The best part is that its fun everytime. Unfortunately we're having a lousy summer here. I've only driven mine a couple times so far this year. Your car looks great!

Congratulations! What a great feeling it is driving it for the first time!
I only have 225 miles on mine since I finished it, but man, as you're finding out, these cars get a lot of attention & are a blast to drive!
Have fun!

Thanks for all your kind comments. I fixed the brake issue, just an adjustment on the balance bar and the brake pedal tightened up. I'd be on the road right now if it wasn't for the bad weather, but I'll try it out tomorrow.

That would be my #1 to do this season. It's a nice ride from here...maybe 70/80 miles or so. The Labor Day Festival at LR is the place to be in New England in late summer.

Congratulations on your build! It must be a great feeling to get it out on the road. Now you'll be able to enjoy it through the summer and fall, so a great time to get it on the road as well.
