Default Hot Rod Power Tour

I just had the most fanastic 9 days of driving.
Left home Friday at noon..arrived Little Rock that nite in time to check into motel and get a bite to eat.
Spent Saturday at the fairgrounds, registration, visiting the sponsers ,visting with the participants.
Sunday:Left Little Rock enroute to Springfield, mo on Sunday morning. Beautiful drive thru the Ozark Mountains.
Monday:Left Springfield, Mo enroute to Topeka, Ks. Rain all the way to the Kansas state line. I kept dry, but the floor pans had to be "bailed out" 3-4 times.
Tuesday: Left Topeka enroute to Lincoln, Ne. Beautiful day...small town streets lined with people watching 2500+ cars pass thru...some had burn out locations...smoke em if you got em. Chris Cambell, photographer with Hot Rod Magizine rode the first 1/2 of the days ride with me and did a photo shoot/interview of my car.
Wednesday: Left Lincoln enroute to Ames, Ia..saw the terrible flooding they were experiencing. Had several detours to get where we were going...Adams Chevrolet shut down thier dealership to have a cook out(fund raiser) for all of us. They cooked 10,000 pork burgers donated by the Pork Producers Association.
Thursday: Left Ames enroute to Rochester, Mn...more detours, more flooding...sad situation for these folks..crops under water, rivers running over the road ways. Sun was shining and took some really great 2 lane back roads...this was probably the most cars and spectators of the entire route. People were parking 1-2 miles away and walking back to the parking area. Had the chance to put my car on the DynaMax portable dyno. Results were not I was hoping for. Running extremely rich on new build. Will need to do a dyno/tune soon. Had the local newspaper video the dyno run and interview me. They posted it on thier web site.
Friday: Left Rochester enroute to Madison, Wi...same ole same ole...detours, flooding. We found a route that took us North of Madison and looped back around the East side to arrive at the final destination mid afternoon...
Saturday: Long Haulers recognition.....2500 plus cars and over 3000 people present for phote shoot and prize give aways(2 crate GM motors and an HHR) Left Madison around 10:30 in the morning to make it back home in time for hometown 20th annual Cruise Nite.

Average price for 91-93 octane was $4.05/gal. I averaged 15.7 mpg for the 2600 mile trip.
Saw 3-4 other Cobra's at various times...got a lot of attention on my car...isn't that what is all about.
If you ever get the chance to make this event, please do it. I met some wonderful people and saw as many great cars...
Thanks to Hot Rod Magizine, General Motors Performance group and Flowmaster for sponsoring this .
Tour starts in Madison next June 6th,,,,see ya there
