Default Shifter options

I have a top loader transmission and find the Mustang type shifter a pain (in the hand) to use. What are the options available? Thanks.

I have always liked what I had in my first car that had a toploader... a hurst shift handle with a ball knob. However, now I have a T-5 with a pro 5.0 shifter, and I am using a ford leather shift knob, and I really like it. When you are pulling back, like 3-4th, your fingers grip under the ledge in the front, and the padded leather feels good on your hand.

After 13 years of shifting with the non-functional 'T' lever gouging my hand, I had enough. Two weeks ago I removed the 'T', but retained the shift handle and original ball. It is a lot more comfortable now. Shoulda done it 12 1/2 years ago.

Yeah David, the first thing I did when I got my cobra was to get rid of that shift handle. Now, go one step further and get a Ford Motorsports leather shifter and you'll really be happy

I like the Jordan shifter with the standard black handle. I also put in the Pro Shift.

I am using the pro 5.0 and the cobra shift knob from finishline. It's comfortable and I did remove the t handle.

It's nine inches long with a 15 degree bend.*The nine inches is the straight line from the tip to the bottom cutting across the curve. It is bright chrome, says "HURST" on it in the classic manner, and is stamped "0015" on the bottom. The knob is a ball marked up for a standard 5 speed.
