Thanks for the welcome guys! As you can probably tell i'm not the most computer literate guy by my first post! As soon as i can get together with my son so he can show me how to post photos. Hopefully by then i will have mastered my digital camera. (I'm stuck in the 70's guys!)

I know what you mean,born in 1951 but when i saw my first 427 Cobra at Archway Ford in Baltimore, Md. i was only 14. (1965). By 1970 i was in college and working full time and my weekly pay was $78.87 a week,and a cobra was still WAY out of reach,so i purchased a new 1970 Chevelle SS454 (LS5).Hence my stuck in the 70's.

Interesting update on that Sal! I assume from that the Comp cars came with a mechanical pump as well as the electric in the trunk? Was it dual electric one pump feeding the other, or separate or what? The dual pump setups I have seen, mounted in the trunk, had no mechanical pump and no fuel gauge. It worked as I described above, primary/secondary. Perhaps THAT is not period correct for the 30 or so original Comp cars?

It works like I said. Take a look at any original car's twin pumps. The lines are simply teed together. They both run at the same time.

S/Cs had the mechanical and electric for sure. Comp cars might have just run the electrics all the time. Never looked into that really.

Hmmm, I'll have to check out a local CSX4000 dual pump, no fuel gauge, car next time I run into one. The local Hi Tech here has a separate switch for each pump, primary/secondary, no gauge.

You could wire it that way I suppose, but that's not original. CSX4000 cars are the same as originals, just with twin Facet pumps instead of the vintage SWs.

My car runs on the mechanical pump and i have 2 swiches on the dash for the 2 stewart warner 240A's,but there are 2 seperate lines going to the big tank in back,no Tand seperate AN fittings. Had a situation about a month ago where i was running out of fuel and the fuel pressure went to 0,threw one of the swiches and the fuel pressure was at about 2 PSI threw the other and it went to 5PSI which is what it runs when on the mechanical pump. that is the way McClusky made the 42 Gal. tank. His website used to have photo's of the tanks in various stages of completion. I called him not long ago because my fuel cell is getting old for a recomendation for a new one and he told me he is no longer making them because of the cost of a new bladder is almost $4000.00 and they dont hold up because of the additives in the gas now,so i called ATL in New Jersey and shure enough after sending photos of the tank they wanted $3800.00 to re-line it! I talked to Dave Kirkham on Fri. and he is going to sell me one of his 42 Gal. tanks for 2800.00 and its a fully baffeled tank and no need for BLADDERS, YAY!
