Isn't it time to bring back the Cobra Caravan
Back in the Sixties I ran into the Cobra Caravan, ( told that story too many times) but suffice to say it was a tractor trailer bearing Cobras, GT40s, Shelbys, etc. that went from city to city appearing at auto shows, and sometimes the larger Shelby dealers.
I know that Shelby has a really spiffy truck now, based in Las Vegas, with murals on the side depicting the various cars he's built since the Sixties.
I know Ford is tight-budgeted now but it seems like the time is right to bring back the idea of a Cobra Caravan to go from one major metropolis to another, maybe tied in with vintage racing events (Every year for the past few years they have been at the Monterey Historics).
I know diesel fuel costs nearly $5.00 a gallon but for a lot of people this will be the only way to see the factory's latest offerings all in one place at one time. Maybe some outside sponsor would have to come in as well, but as long as they complement what Shelby is selling, why not?
