can't help you on the carpet (am in same boat). As for mirrors, I went to Pep Boys & bought a pair of suction cup mounted convex mirrors to stick in the upper corners of the windshield. Cheap, removable, adjustable, & effective. For four bucks a piece, they do the trick!

Max,
We have new carpet, we now have 3 coats of clear, and I can make our side mirrors work. A lot has changed here and I'm sure somethings have changed there. The one thing I ask is that everyone do their homework and see the cars in person and talk to the current owners and view the current cars.
I don't have any inventory, and have not since March. They are all sold and sold as they are arriving. That says more than I ever could.
Oh and the rear plates clear the handle with no modifications
Thanks for your honest perspective ... I wish it would rub off a little.

Since Ernie is promoting his POS.
The trans comes in and out of a Unique with no problem. No interior removal.
Call Unique for a quote on a turn key minus or a turn key if you want. You might be surprised what the price would be.

Spf
I've had both. SPF hands down. Both great cars but I know you get a lot more for your money with SPF. JMO

Yes, Jag with inboard brake. Very easy and changing the pads can be done easily and without removing the interior.

Yeah...this one has always confused me...it's pretty annoying but liveable...what mods have people done for this issue?
Also, the absurd side view mirror is very frustrating!
All in all...the SPF is a fantastic car that brings me so much enjoyment. I wish it was more a chick magnet and not such a guy magnet though! Wherever I go...it draws way too many guys to the car!!

The plate just clears the handle on my SPF...no room for a license plate frame though. It seems like there have been slight variations over the years, as some SPF cars have plenty of clearance. Small potatoes in scheme of things.
raclaims - Try replacing the mirror in the side view mirror with a convex 4:1 mirror. You can either stick the convex replacement on the old mirror or replace the existing mirror. Really adds coverage for the blind spot.

"The plate just clears the handle on my SPF...no room for a license plate frame though."
You need to go to autozone and get their $5.95 plate chrome frame. It is so petite and covers the perimeter so tightly I had to trim the licence plate to get the plate to fit in the plate frame. It looks FANTASTIC THOUGH!!!! Take your plate with you when you go and get their smallest version.
Thanks for the tip on the mirror!! I'll have to try it.
I finally solved the bdr plate and made it lay flat but it took me 4 hours LOL!! It looked perfect when I was done though. I need to get to one of our local meets and check out the new BDR's, I flipped one (bought and sold for profit) about 2 weeks ago but it was a 300 series. Plate was still sloped and it sold before I could modify the plate frame.
I have convinced my wife I need a lift for the garage, the problem is with my ceiling height I can get two "short" cars on it, like a Cobra and GT40, LOL!!! At times I wonder if the gt40/bdrgt are too race ready. I have yet to see one on the road in Houston where I see a cobra about 1 every 3 weeks which sickens me, needless to say I want to be the only one with one.
somehow I got off subject but once again the Houston lastros lost and I drank to much beer LOL!!
