Question Costco Moto floor tiles

Not sure which forum to put this, so here goes.

I want to use the snap together floor tiles in my garage. I have looked at several brands and then ran into some in Costco. Good price, limited color selection, but I am OK there. The question; Has anyone had any experience with this brand? Good or bad. I would like to know before ordering.

Great stuff. We have it on our shop floor. The flooring is made by Race Deck. You may have noticed one of our polished cars on the box.

They are made by RaceDeck but to a lesser quality than the original RaceDeck tiles. Compare them side by side and you'll see the difference. They are still probably more than anyone will need in their garage. I went with the RaceDeck because I got it at dealer cost which beat the Moto-Floor price, otherwise I would have bought mine at Costco.

Default Moto Floor

Hi
The MotoFloor is a great product and yes it is different than RaceDeck. Motofloor is slightly lighter weight, different top design and available on in limited colors.
RaceDeck is built for virtually any enviroment from commercial applications to the residential garage. MotoFloor is designed specifically for the residential garage.

The sale that costco.com has going on right now is a fantastic price, I beleive the sale ends on July 31.

Thanks Tom for the Props!

On line at Costco.com the sale is $89.99 for a box of 48 tiles, That is a Smoking Deal for a high quality USA made product.

Can you pick up the MotoFloor anywhere else besides Costco? I did a search online and only found links to forums talking about the Costco sale.

You can order on line. Some Costco's may have it on hand in the store.

Tom K,

You guys are in the snow belt. How easy is the clean up of snow-slop and mag chloride drippings after a winter storm? Just hose it off or what? How about tool boxes being rolled around on the tile? To accomodate a lift, should you cut out a section for the legs or just place it on top of the tile? Have you ever damaged one beyond repair...how?

I have a four car garage; two daily drivers in one side of the garage and the sacred altar of holy hot rods in the other two single size spaces. Would I be better off to tile the holy side and leave the bare concrete for the the dozers?

Inquiring minds and all,

Terry

Strange coincidence, as I was presently looking at the "roll out" version Costco has, is that the same company? Rather going full force and getting it done in that "Epoxy" paint. I love the look and many colors plus very durable.

No problem cleaning up. We usually just mop up the mess. No problem with tool boxes, they just roll right over it. We put the two post lift directly on the concrete and just cut the tile to fit around it. We put a four post lift on top of the tile. We have lifted up some tiles when picking up very heavy machines and turning sharply on the fork lift. We have also damage tile by dropping articles that are being welded (in other words they were very hot) and melting a tile. If a tile is damaged it is very easy to replace. I would tile the whole garage, but of course you could tile half the garage and if you like it do the rest. We were surprised at how much the plastic tile is easier on your feet.

That cleaning process in the Rustoleum Video did not impress me as being
"easy as painting", plus the week waiting time - I got the Costco tiles but
have a bit more work to do before I drop them. Glad to hear the good
reports. Whew!

How will do the tiles works on a garage floor with large cracks in it (around 1 inch wide) and in some places uneven. Some of the areas where the cracks are might 1/2 inch higher than the other side of the crack. I live in earthquake country!

Thanks!

I am sure the tiles will bridge better than paint We covered up several cracks in our floor with with no problem. However, we did not have any cracks that were an inch wide with a half inch height difference.

Take a look at LOWES. They offer a PVC tile approximately 2' X 2'. Black and gray in stock and other special order colors.

If it's this item, it measures 20.5" x 20.5" at $10.98. That is $3.76 per sq foot compared to Costco's $1.87 per sq foot.

Plus you have Costco's return policy.

Guys,

Thanks for all the great input. I think I am going to make a run to Costco to see if they have it in stock.

Also you might want to check out

http://www.bigfloors.com/

They sell Harley Davidson floor, RaceDeck, Motorfloor, etc. Even with Big Floors free shipping it does not beat the Costco sale price.
