Default How old is your Cobra?

Obviously, the oldest are the originals. It might be interesting to see how old some of the replicas are that Club members are playing with. Note the year of build, the make, and the current condition of your "oldie". To get things started, as my info notes, I have a 1982 (actually began being built in 1981) Butler Racing version. I'm the second owner and it runs great on daily drives and regular autocrossing. It is No. 5 of Ron Butler's run that ended in the late 80s/early 90s. He took over from Arntz.
SO, WHAT ELSE IS OUT THERE?

'82 Unique. I'm the third owner. Spent most of it's life down in Florida, came to Maryland in '96.
Car is in very good shape, with original paint and interior. Shows some wear after 11,000 miles. I converted from automatic tranny to 4 speed, put new wheels and tires on it, redid the entire brake system, rebuilt the MGB front suspension, replaced the wooden dash with a black vinal padded one, and some other things to make it road worthy. It's my first Cobra and I just love it!
Good topic to start Jamo, thanks.

Yo Cobra 20646
My Butler also has a MGB frontend, which is great on the highway, but slow and hard to turn in autocrosses. When you rebuilt your's, come across anything magical to share?

So, we have four early 80's in the entire membership of this club? COME ON PEOPLE! Your's does not have to be older to post--let's see what the difference is between the decades: are their many survivors vs. new ones being built?

Cool

97' B & B. Gone thru one set of tires and one engine. Driven on weekends, open track and mountain roads. Mileage, the last time I looked, approximately 8k. Thinking about the next bullet "408ci".
Peace.....

ERA #50, built 81-82. Paint still shines (at least most of it) and it runs with the big dawgs.

THE BODY WAS # 102. THIS WAS BEFORE THEY PROVIDED ORGIN OF MANUFACTURE PAPER WORK WITH

THE JAG XKE FRONT SUSPENSION HAS CUSTOM BUILT TORSION BARS, 3.54 REAR GEAR, AND PIN DRIVE KNOCK
OFF HALIBRANDS. POWER COMES FOR A 351-C WITH 4 V HEADS AND 48-IDA'S. HORSE POWER OUT PUT IS IN THE 500 TO 525 RANGE, WITH TOP LOADER 4 SP TRANS.
THE CAR WON 1ST IN CLASS M-2 AT SEBRING FL PRO- SOLO IN 1988.
