Default Thanks Daryl Holliday Motor Sports

Thanks Daryl for a professional job on building the body and frame on my 1966 Cobra. I'm having the car built in stages. The next stage is installing the jag. rear end. I have the utmost confindence in your craftmenship. You wouldn't have a real Cobra (worth 300k) in your shop if you didn't take care of business.

Thanks
Oggie

Ummm having this as your first post and having a blog entry here that is word for word copy and paste just reeks of "I have to get my name cleared one way or another so I can continue doing business". Not the best way to win over customers IMO. This may be legit, but if it is, it the poster was told to come here and post his happiness. It was not done out of his own accord.

Just do a search for "Holliday" here on CC. There is one positive thread (this one) and a bunch of others that are very, very negative.

I wonder if Oggie will come back and post anything else?

Can anyone tell me how someone "takes care of business" by having a real Cobra in his shop?

I have always been amazed at the amount of creative energy, effort and time that dishonest people put into their "Trade".
If they put half as much into honest work they would be more successful and have a heck of a lot less stress.

Not that oggie would fall into that category.

Rember the previously planted post on this topic by Road-N-Air? Here is a direct quote from it: "By the way I happen to know that he is restoreing (sic) an original right now worth over $300K, so obviously he's doing something right."

Mr. Holliday seems convinced this 300K dog, errr Cobra, can hunt when it comes to establishing his credibility. Obviously, he doesn't understand that planting posts has the opposite effect.

Way back in the '80s I had the opportunity to visit Mr. H when he was working out of his home garage, in Spring, Texas (outside of Houston). At that time he had a Cobra body sitting in his backyard; which he stated was an original. He had indicated that he had "his Cobra" back in California, and had used it to help Mr. Arntz get started in the replica business; splashing a mold off of it. He stated he had worked for Arntz as a mechanic and fabricator. He also indicated he was using it for his replica bodies, in Texas. I never did see the chassis, nor did I think of asking about a CSX number. Could this be the same car? If the "restoration car" and this car are one in the same; Ron's right, he has had it a long time.

Some of these treads are more fun than watching a Pee Wee Herman movie.

Not that oggie would fall into that category.

I have no way of knowing whether or not "oggie" and his post is legitmate, however I am a member of www.armyranger.com (we have a forum there as well) and on that site our site administrators can (through the I.P. address) when a post is submitted figure out the location of the messenger and thereby determine if it is someone being dishonest when they have been banned from the site and attempt to login with a new name.

It seems to me that if a person has been building AC Cobra Replicars over a 25 year period they'd learn how to do it right. Again I'm only the website designer, but it troubles me when people tend to slander his name without all of the "Complete Details". I don't know the specifics concerning Mr. Rich Lihou's car however one thing that he admits to is that Mr. Holliday offered to fix the problems (he forgot to mention that another mechanic rewired the car incorrectly and screwed it up) now I can't prove that for it was told to me and can only be considered heresay, however the person he sold the car to in fact had the problems fixed by Mr. Holliday's son and the car ran very well.

This is key

Rich Lihou
If this is true then why didn't it take that long to make the repairs after the car was sold?

Those are undisputed facts plain and simple, the repairs were made, the car was quoted to have run very well and the new owner was pleased. It sucks when only one side of a story is told and people "make blanket" assumptions without being objective. I thought this was a site populated with adults.
