Default Top Notch Installation, Service, Maintenance, and Race set up...

I bought my car, SPF#770, from Bob, Baby, and Dennis Olthoff, back in August, 2000, taking delivery on 10/21/2000. My experiences with the Olthoff's have been nothing but enjoyable since then. Sadly, Bob and Baby have both passed away, but I know they would be happy to know Dennis still carries on the family tradition of good friends, excellent advice, and expert installation, repair and maintenance for his customers.

It has been said that Bob never sold a stranger a car, and Dennis carries on this tradition. The Olthoff shop no longer sells SPF replicars, preferring to do power train installations, service and maintenance work....but, they can hook you up with the East coast dealer in a heartbeat...he's right down the road.

I wouldn't hesitate to call Dennis, or anyone at his shop, and have no reservations about doing any future business with Olthoff Racing, nor any regrets about any past business. They're the experts in my book... !!!

Drop me a line if you need further information...

I haven't had the pleasure yet with dealing with either name, but you can read all the positive comments about both shops here on the Club Cobra and at www.gt40s.com. Good luck.

Being a member on here for a while and seeing the knowlegible post KC has made I would not have any concerns purchasing from his Arkansas sight.

I'm wondering why not Dynamic or Performance engineering? I am waiting for a SPF to come in this week from Dynamic and am having Performance build a motor and perform the install. I have heard a lot of good things about them and have not had any issues so far. Is there something that i should watch out for? If there are Horror story's please let me know.

Thumbs up

I have a Keith Craft engine in my SPF and all I can say is it everything I expected and more. If you can, go visit his shop in Arkadelphia and you will begin to understand why his reputation is so well known. It's a first class place with very knowledgeable employees. He offers good pricing and excellent engines.

They have sold more cars in the US than any other dealer (so i've been told). I bought my car there and had great customer service. They stood by their product completely. I had a few issues and they paid for the parts and labor with no questions asked.

Eric does a great job with the motors. He built mine from scratch and it has run flawlessly. I am sure that bad reviews of Dynamic/PE are the exception.

Dont worry about your purchase. They will give you a great car and stand by it.

Chris....I'm happy for you because that is the way a business should be run. Unfortunately, I did not have your luck so I'm shopping elsewhere.

You can't go wrong with a Keith Craft motor. I've got one in my car, and it's been great.

Dennis Olthoff knows his stuff when it comes to SPFs. He is also very good in getting the car set up and dialed in correctly.

The engine/tranny install and set-up on my car was done at Olthoff's and they did a great job.

I'll give you a different perspective...

I've got the Dart aluminum Windsor 427 stroker in my Backdraft, built by Keith Craft about 4 years ago. I'm the third owner of this car, so I didn't have it built. Whenever I've had questions about the engine, the staff at Keith Craft have been outstanding at responding to my questions quickly. And they don't just blurt out answers... sometimes they'll ask multiple questions and make recommendations to verify that the issue is diagnosed properly. I've received e-mail replies from KCR late into the night- they really stand behind their product.

No complaints here...

I live only an hour or so away from the Olthoff shop, and am able to drive up and visit often. Dennis is a very, very busy man. He is immensely knowledgable about all things SPF, and has experience with powerplants from many sources. Just be sure that when you call for advice, you have your questions and thoughts concise and specific, because he doesn't have much time for long casual conversations and discussions. I have the utmost respect for the service and and advice i have gotten from Olthoff Racing over the past 8 years.

all the best....

At the risk of hijacking this thread, let me respond to PHM; I too bought an SPF from Dynamic and Performance Engineering did the install. SPF 2080 was purchased in March of 2005; it has 10k plus miles, about a dozen passes on the drag strip, has the 427 Windsor engine that Eric does, and so far I have had no problems with the car. It runs in the elevens, and no leaks, no fuss, no muss. I understand that Dynamic is now under new ownership.

And to Poisansnake, I wish you well with your choice. I think either one of those shops are excellent based upon my interaction with owners who have cars sourced from them.
