Hey Bill you didn't ask me which car I brought but I will tell you anyway. I was going to bring the Cobra but it was in the back of the garage blocked in by the GT40 which was blocked in by the Carrera and the Harley and then my wife went out in her Range Rover and had the keys to the AMG with her which was blocking in everything but my lousy F550 pickup truck. No way was I going to unhook the 40 ft. Featherlight just to go to the show. I can't believe I have all the bad luck.

I knew there was a reason why you were not there.

I saw that one coming a mile away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my shop, my POS racecar is usually blocked in by some other broken POS I hauled out of a junkyard in the hopes of salvaging something on it, only to later haul it back to the junkyard and beg the owner to take it back, free of charge,of course!!!!!!

Hi all. I was there on Saturday morning with my SPF (royal blue w/ white stripes) and was parked at the show and shine. I had a great time and found people to be very friendly. I've been on the receiving end of some cobra snobbery at other car shows and was pleasantly surprised to find none of that nonsense. 1985 CCX, I saw your car but didn't get a chance to meet you.

It was great seeing the cars at speed on the track. I wish they would have it there every year.

There was and orange and white GT40 there that sounded mean. Does anyone know anything about that car? Make, etc.

No where in there did I see any reference to a Prancing Horse. Besides the Cobra (and the GT), that's all that matters to me.

Evan didn't say what year Carrera. It could be a 1984 with a value of $10,000-$15,000. Just kidding around Evan. I'm sure the Carrera is a 2008 or 2009.

Hi Everyone,

We're out camping this week so I only have dialup access but I'll post some of our pictures when we get back to civilization. We really haven't had too much of a chance to look at them so we don't know if we have anything that anyone would be interested in but we'll post what we got.

Thanks Jeff, we had a great time and it certainly was an adventure just getting down there. SAAC 33 may be our first SAAC event but it definitely won't be the last. Next year we'll make sure that we schedule the camping trip so that it doesn't interfer with SAAC and we can stay for the entire thing.

ZTARUM, SAAC announced at the Saturday night dinner that they will be holding SAAC conventions at Thunderbolt for the forseeable future. Team Shelby will be holding a similar event for the West coast.

Hey Jeff….Many thanks from the Chicago Area! I had a great time at SAAC and am glad Dave invited me to fly out there to join all of you. It was quite an education in American Muscle for me… a Porsche fanatic. I enjoyed meeting some of the gang… Nick and Bonnie… Mike and Donna…. Great people… Great Fun!

The different racing groups were a blast to see…I thought for sure Junior was going to punch a hole in the tire wall! The best part of the racing has to have been the guys in the GT350’s… They put on one heck of a show. Also, the best kept secret was the area down by turn one. Great views of the racers coming down the front straight at speed and braking into turn one…..very cool to watch.

Unfortunately the only let down was the find out from Jim yesterday that he sold the 289 FIA that I was looking at to the “other guy”….so much for Jim needing time to think things through…. Too bad really… It was one nice car. I would have liked to have added it to my stable.

Thanks for letting us crash with you….and thanks for the ride through New Hampshire in your Cobra. I am definitely going to plan on attending next year. We will need to look into getting an RV and a larger trailer…..

Dan

Default Pics from SAAC 33

My son and I made it down for Saturday. Between my love of Cobras and his love of Mustangs, we really had a great day.

Here's a link to the thread on ffcobra where I posted a bunch of pics.

http://www.ffcobra.com/forums/showthread.php?t=192864

Sorry I didn't get more, but I had a problem with my camera that turned out to be bad memory cards. I was forced to limit myself to only the pics I really wanted. Do you have any idea how hard that is to do at a Shelby American gathering?!

Rodknock: Close, its an '05 Carrera S, White with tan interior just in case you wanted to know. Great car.

This place cracks me up! Answer a simple and seemingly innocuous question with a simple, direct and innocuous response and....voila!!! Nasty CC sarcasm from the usual peanut gallery

Actually, Racer X forgot a few because the Harley was blocked by the Ness Victory Vegas Jackpot, which was blocked by the H2 which was blocked by the Jeep Rubicon.

Dan, thanks for making the trek over and for all the help throughout the weekend. I'm glad you've been bitten and we'll see you again, maybe in yours! Thanks again to all the great NE crew for all your help over the weekend. If it wasn't that far away we wouldn't have got so much seat time ;-) Huh Jeff.

From the Peanut gallery:

Bill gave you a beauty of a softball question down the middle of the plate belt high and you just knocked that "pea" right out of the park.

Dan, buy the pony yet...LOLOL

Great to see you are active already! Also great to see your pics in the gallery!
It was great fun! Already counting the days until next year! RV sounds good or maybe a suite?

I wish it was longer as I saw many cars just not able to meet all the owners.

Which is pretty amazing considering some of the sucker pitches you swing at.

Just out of curiosity why not drive the Cobra or GT to the SAAC event??

My guess. Too many mileson the odo, didn't want any rock chips and lack of comfort. Plus, the weather isn't like San Diego's.

Can't be lack of comfort in the GT.

I suppose I should have said Why not trailer the Cobra or drive the GT?

None of the above. Figured I drive the Carrera and be different.

I like being different.
