Cobra Half-Windshield
Anybody fabricate a Racing style half-windshield for their cobra?
Half meaning full normal windshield width but half height.
What type of bonding "sandwitch" and frame attachment was used? Frame or frameless?
How was it to work with Lexan MR-10?
Don't want to replace another windshield, like the look, and not worried about DOT or rain.
Any constructive comments would be appreciated, thank you.

Bret,
Querry on Morris Clements because he has "Chopped" his windshield to about 8" tall and it is framed in chrome or aluminium. His adaption looks great maybe that is why Kit Car called his car the Fastest Cobra ever built? His photo is in on of the last pictures in the series: http://www.runngun.net/slideshow.htm

Well before that attempt of marginal looks, a thing of beauty was created by the maker of the Buckley Mirror Mount...later appearing on the arruminum Cobra of doctor/car broker in South Carolina.

Now that really is special
My understanding is that it is very difficult at best to persuade the maker of the Buckley Mirror Mount to perform his magic on said mirror mount.
I'm thinking it would nearly take a miracle to convince him to recreate the "Thing of Beauty" However, it would be more than worth the effort.

I switched to wood.
Wasn't there a nice enough picture of my car with the windshield installed?

I borrowed Pat's idea although I think he did a much better job.
It's great on the track but if I was going to run it on the road I should have made it taller. The crappy dash pad and steering wheel pad were a registration requirement and fell off soon after I got home from getting my plates.
Cheers

Hmmmm...well, after looking through a bunch of files, I found this one where you were getting polished off (which may assplain your wood comment), and some immigrant was taking pictures to send back to some third world country...

Up at Shasta Dam...Turk's CSX on the viewer's right.
State Sen Johansen...author of SB100 (he had a CSX).
...and a final shot.

Will do, Hank. I found a reasonable source for the MR10.

Scout around, see what you can come up with in regards to securing the Lexan, if it needs to be sandwitched etc., Holes radiused (sp), Window to frame attachment etc.
Bret.

Bret,
I don't know if you have any TAP plastic stores in your area, but if you do, you can probably pick up the lexan you need without the expense of shipping. They can also cut it to your specifications pretty easily and inexpensively. I've cut both lexan and acrylic, and it can be a pain unless you use special blades. That is also true for drilling and countersinking holes.
Good luck, I've been considering putting a single windscreen on the driver's side for quite awhile. A similar process, but on a smaller scale.
