Installing Cobra Emblems
My SFP should be here in 2 weeks and have the two cobra emblems for the front and back as well as the side cobra 427's. What is the best way to install them and what should be the exact location of all the emblems. I dont want to screw this up. Only two more weeks to wait!

Silicon glue works well.
Look at another car to get ideas where to place them.

Dont use glue and or nuts, are you nuts? 3m double sided tape! Super strong and super thin. Been on for three trouble free years! BS2233

Speed nuts are made of sheet metal and create their own threads as they twist on the post. They are intended for light duty applications only. Coarse threads.

I went to a store that sold body supply parts and purchased a special double sided tape made for this type of application. I installed all the emblems you mention 6 years ago and never had a problem. The only problem was the roll of tape cost $35 or $40 and I only used about a foot of it. IM me and I will be happy to mail you some out.

you get can get some 3m emblem tape for $3.99 at autozone. Do not use silicone if you ever remove the clear coat will be etched. Silicone has some acid in it. Double face tape is the only way to go, They sell two thicknesses get the thinest.

I cut the posts off before gluing the emblems on. You don't need them and it can be a ***** to try and drill two holes in the body that end up with the emblem perfectly straight.
You can use one post (and hole) as a guide and break off the other one. Glue or two sided tape both work just fine. To remove, use a piece of dental floss and work it back and forth under the emblem. They will come right off.

I agree with BlackSnake. I used 3M double face tape for emblems, works great! That's some good stuff!

If you use the 3M tape get the grey outdoor stuff not the white stuff. The grey is a lot stronger.
Most office supply places carry it as well as Home Depot, ect.
To remove apply Naptha (lighter fluid) and let it soak in, this will soften the glue.

+1
Do not drill your body!
It is very difficult to get the holes correct and the QC on the badges is poor enough that even if you drill the holes correctly the badge is still crooked.
Cut off the pins, file the stubs flat and get the two sided gray outdoor variety of 3M double sided tape. I liked the thicker one because my badges were not perfectly flat on the back and the extra thickness worked out nicely.

PHM;
You've received some great advice on how to mount. Heres's some information on correct placement:

Scroll down to see correct measurements for hood, trunk, and side emblem placement.

In order to remove
If you have to remove it use dental floss back and forth, like some one mentioned earlier

...thin nylon fishing line works well also
I used 3M Emblem Adhesive #08061 clear, tried the tape but the emblems stuck up to much because of the thickness of the tape(the thin stuff). I removed the pins from the back and filed them flat then applied a coating of the adhesive brushed it out with a small hobby brush, let it tack up some then applied the emblems...you can move the emblems slightly right after installation if you do't get them just right. Stayed on the car for over 5 years
