i guess I still do not know how to post, the last one was supposed to quote the 100 to 200 miles per quart.

Todd has always been helpful, and I am more than pleased with my Roush power. Good to hear your story...

Just want to make one point without swaying the discussion...

The halfshaft failure that Peter experienced is entirely different (part, situation, and cause) then that Marc experienced and is nothing ordinary for the vehicle.

Back to regular programming...

Was it ever determined what caused the excessive oil consumption?

"OP", you mean Ron Howard's character in Mayberry RFD?

If I read it right, that was the original diagnosis (that was supposed to be fixed) -- but the excessive oil consumption continued, so I assume that it was something else.

So was it burning blue smoke? Was the spark plug oily?
Ever since overheating in July, mine has started using a quart per 100 miles without a drop leaking. No oil in the puke jug either. I can't see it burning any, but maybe with the big pipe, I can't see it. Sure would think you'd see that much though.

Jay returned my car to me on Friday with a brand new Roush Polished 427R. Jay and Brian from Vintage Motor Sports did a great job installing the new motor provided by Roush. To say I am elated by the way Roush handled my problem with the 402R is an understatement. Between Friday and Saturday have put over 200 miles on the new motor. It rained last night and I'm waiting for the roads to dry to get back out there.

Problems happen for every company, but it's the way that they handle the situation that really matters. Kudos to Roush and Vintage.

That's great, you are going to love the 427R motor.

Car definitely feels like a different animal with 427. Haven't run it over 4000 rpm's yet waiting until I put 500 miles on it and perform the 500 mile service. 200 Miles to go.
