Electrical Guru Needed - Wiper Switch
The windshield wipers in my Roadster would run all the time so I figured the switch was bad. I replaced said switch and the wipers still run continually.
I have to reach under the dash and unplug a wire from the back of the switch to get them to stop.
I do not know what else to look at to solve this problem. Suggestions much appreciated!!

Terry,
Can you get to the terminal on the back of that switch with a voltmeter? If so, see if it has voltage on it with the wire off. If it does then you may have the switch wired wrong. Also if you can get to your wiper motor easy you could measure the wire there to see what it has on it. If yo have just the one speed wipers there shouldn't be more than two or three wires on the wiper motor. Mine has two speed wipers and I have 4 wires at the wiper motor.

I assume you are using a toggle switch for your wipers. If so here is how it should be wired:
The center connection should be your power that is connected to your ignition and is only on when your key is on.
The top connection can be for your slow wiper speed coming directly from your wiper motor (I think the wire may be yellow)
The bottom connection can be for your fast wiper speed coming directly from your wiper motor (this wire may be blue or green)
You will also have a ground wire coming from your windshield wiper motor that needs to be grounded to your firewall steel frame.
That should get you where you have functional wipers that go off when your toggle switch is in the middle position, slow speed in the down position, and fast speed in the up position.

I currently have a knob type switch that you turn to the right one click for slow and two clicks for fast!
The wipers have only had one speed since completion so I am thinking that I have something wired incorrectly!
I will test with a toggle switch this evening!!
I have 4 wires coming from the switch to the wiper motor!!!

Terry,
I think I have the wiring diagram you may need at my house. If you want to drop by or call me when I'm home I'd be happy to let you copy it.

If they were working, the "park" switch in the motor assembly is probably messed up.
