Default My friend is loosing the battle

I posted a request for prayer for my friend, Doreen a while ago.

She is fighting the good fight, but the doctors have given up.

I am asking again if you may, include her in a prayer.

Thanks

trularin: Not sure what your friend is going through, but I know its hard to watch someone close to you suffer or pass away. When my son was diagnosed with Leukemia back in May, a friend here at work gave me a copy of "When Bad Things Happen to Good People" by Harold Kushner. I didn't pick it up for months, as I was expecting the common platitudes and a vehement defense of God, of which I'd had enough of from the people around me. When I did finally pick it up and read it, I found a realistic point of view regarding illness and death in the context of a belief in God. I found it really quite helpful, for I found that the people around me, though well-meaning, were quick to the common platitudes that really did nothing to salve the agony and stress of what I was going through.
My thoughts to you and your friend. If she must indeed pass, may it be peaceful.

DD

It saddens me to hear that.

I will say a special prayer for her.

I've watched several friends go through painful agonizing times from MS, cancer, and other significant illnesses. It is very difficult to see them endure what must seem like endless suffering.

I've found that sometimes the best thing and only thing you have left to do is try to lessen the suffering and pray for a peaceful and pain free end. As in all things, we must all come to our end. It is in the manner of the passing that can give some degree of comfort to the one suffering as well as those who are supporting them.

I hope for the best for your friend, but at the least, to have friends and family around her for comfort when she needs it most. I've been told that God never gives us more than we can endure and I have come to believe it as I get older.

Bob

I have seen this in my family as well. the most profound thing I heard that helped me was this. A guy in church was watching his wife go and his words were..."if dying is the way that will heal her, I can live with that"

God bless....

One of the hardest things for us to accept is that none of us get our of here alive. The best we can hope for is that it's not to soon, and that there is very little suffering.

Your friend will be in our thoughts and prayers.

All of you, thank you very much.

She is the wife of one of my best friends. He is not doing well with it, but he will be OK.

She is loosing her battle with cancer. I do not know what to do but to ask for Divine intervention.

Thank you all again.
