Would someone please refresh my memory on the CSX3060 lineage issue?

HMMMMM

Just checked the Registry and it jumps from CSX3055 to CSX3063, no info on CSX3060. The verbage in the registry states that the numbers 3056-3062 were never used by AC the next chassis billed to Shelby American was CSX3063 after CSX3055.

CSX3060 is noted in the registry as one of the Completion cars that was built and finished on 2/91 the registry states that it was sold to an owner in Japan once it was completed by McClusky then resold to an owner in Atlanta. There is additional information about a fake CSX3060 that was to be sold through Barret Jackson that was verified as a a fake by Mike McClusky, BJ removed it from the auction.

Perhaps others with more knowledge of the lineage will provide more info.

Thanks, I just noticed that it's up on the BJ auction for this week. I remember it being auctioned before, I think? But the problem is there are a couple of 3060 cars and this is the one that always seems to have the "I can't be licensed in CA" proviso on it. Oh well, thanks for the refresh.

Was going to post this in upcoming sales. Found this thread. What world class museum are they speaking of? Someone needs to proof read the copy.

1966 AC Cobra 427 SC for sale | Hemmings Motor News

From Shelby forum below...

This is my 1st visit to the Forum, 1st post, and proud to say I own the real 3060. It was sold to Japanese collector in 1991 and remained at his Newport CA home until he sold it to me in 2005. Prior to making the purchase, I discovered another 3060 had been sold at the B-J Scottsdale auction in 2003. Mike McCluskey who built 7 or 8 completion cars for Shelby verified the one I was looking at was the one he built. I never attempted to contact the owner of the fake 3060 that B-J sold because of the problems it could have created; however, when I received B-J's Sneak Peak 2008 Magazine in December and noticed what appeared to be the same fake 3060 being advertised for a prime time sale at this year's auction, I provided the facts in a letter so they could remove the fake from their auction, which they did. The real 3060 was built blue with white stripes and white side pipes. Mike McCluskey "freshened" it after my purchase with new English wool carpet, padding for the seats and a complete repaint - it's still blue with white stripes but the side pipes are polished metal. It had about 2,000 miles when I purchased it, and I am only adding about 100 miles per year. It has only been in one car show and it received peoples choice and best of show. When I need a Cobra speed fix I drive CSX 4158 which is an aluminum car with an all alloy Shelby 427 built to 468.

Surprised Hillbank is handling this sale. A car with a story; not a good one.

Oh, I dunno. A replica of a replica might make for a great story.

It was from "January 24th, 2008, 10:49 PM " so maybe something happened to CSX 4158 since then.

I do like the mention of Mark McClusky in the ad... is that the twin of Mike?
