Brian Angliss CSX30601 on ebay!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1966-...QQcmdZViewItem
Here is an absolutely drop dead gorgeous 1966 Ford AC Cobra 427 S/C in museum quality condition inside and out. It's a stunning car that has been totally body off restored about 8 years ago and looks amazing. This car has a very special and unique history behind it. This is a true aluminum bodied AC Cobra with the body and chassis built by AC Cars Ltd in the early 1980's and was assembled by Brian Angliss of CP AutoKraft. This AC Cobra is, in almost every sense, a continuation of the cobra line that ended in 1968. It must be stressed that this is not a "kit car" or "replica" of the Cobra. This is a true AC Cobra in it's own right, being manufactured by AC Cars Ltd.
This is truly more of a true original Shelby Cobra then the eight Shelby continuation cars that were built in the 90's and sold for over $500,000 new. Those cars were thought by the public to be built with original bodies and chassis left over from the original 60's production. The cars were not even built by Shelby, they were all contracted to be built by Mark McCluskey in Southern California. All the bodies and chassis were built by Mark in the 90's.
The body and chassis on this car was built in England by AC Cars Ltd using all of the original tooling used to build the original AC Cobras in the 60's. When this AC Cobra was restored in the 90's, they want above and beyond to make this car appear to be an authentic Shelby AC Cobra 427 S/C to anybody looking at it. Just to give you an example they used genuine Shelby pin-drive knock off wheels, Shelby wood steering wheel, original ford auxiliary fan motors, Lucas headlights, gauges, Goodyear Eagle racing tires, 36 gallon fuel tank etc. Even the wiring looms are done exactly like the original cars. This is perfect mirrior image to the original Shelby AC Cobra 427S/C built in 1966 and is correct in every detail.
The exterior of this rare car is in drop dead gorgeous condition. The genuine AC Alloy body is finished in Guardsman Blue. The paint job is absolutely stunning and has an amazing luster to it. It was hand rubbed to a smooth as glass finish. The body is laser straight and everything lines up perfect. This car literally stops traffic. It looks so good going down the road that people can't help but to stop and stare.
Mechanically, this AC Cobra runs and drives amazing. It is powered by the period correct Ford 427ci side oiler engine mated to a four speed transmission. Under the hood is absolutely detailed to show condition and is totally period correct in every way. This car always starts right up and is and absolute blast to drive!
This is an ultra rare muscle car that is only going up in value as time goes on. The dash is autographed by the legend Carroll Shelby himself. This impeccable example of a 1966 AC Cobra 427 S/C was previously titled and registered as CSX3060 until it was determined this was not a Shelby continuation car, but a TRUE AC Car Ltd built AC Cobra. The car currently has a Arizona issued VIN number AZ303358, titled as a 1966 AC Cobra. Although CSX30601 is still stamped on the chassis proving what this car really is. This AC Cobra is, in a word: Amazing.

That's an interesting way they reworded the description of the car to make it sound like it's worth more than it is.

Csx 30601
Gentlemen, what you are looking at here is an AutoKraft; who purchased AC Cars (with FoMoCo) in 1986; vehicle. It is more of a true continuation vehicle than the Shelby's as it came from the same craftsmen that originally did the frames and bodies and actually from many of the jigs and bucks originally used. Brian Anglis (AutoKraft) had the right to the name "Cobra" everywhere in world except the US...So this car is an AC Cobra. It is NOT a Shelby. Some of the items are MKIV ie the rear fender flare and creases, yet many of the MKIV's refinements were replaced with the origal 427 components; ie the aluminum inner fenders etc. But as AutoKraft owned/was AC Cars in 1986, he built a few of the 427 cars before going into receivorship in "99 or 2000. The fit and finish of the AutoKraft cars was generally better than the earlier AC factory vehicles. The history of the company is avail on the ACOC website or via fine tome' by Trevor Legate "COBRA". Most had COX or COB XXXX serials however..one meant export and the other was Great Britain consumption.Jbo

Isn't this the car inwhich we hashed out the "problematic provenance" in a thread, last month?
Looks like a classic "flip" to me. Given the present state of the economy I wish the Seller the best of luck, hopefully there's a "willing" Buyer out there...it appears that Hawk has all the correct disclaimers in place regarding accuracy and authenticity.
Its interesting that the car ended up back in Scottsdale, after the BJ auction was over with! Humm?

You are correct!
On a side note Brian Angliss bodies are top notch and so are the cars as they are true factory cars. Will this car sell for what the seller thinks, probably not however it is certainly a great car with a great bit of quality. Actually it is a car I would prefer over a 4000 or KMS as it does have very nice lines and again was made in England.
Wish I had a spare few bucks.

Is that including or excluding the buyers commission?

It does have shelby american stainless steel spinners, and was signed by " the man". Some may believe this qualifies it as a shelby.

CSX30601 headed for Texas
Gentlemen,
A friend of mine from Texas called me a couple days ago and asked me to go look at 30601 as he was purchasing it and wished to have somebody eyeball it before he flew out and I live in Scottsdale. I own Kirkham #KMP304 and am very proud of it. But when I walked into the garage and looked at that genuine guardsman blue AC Cobra it blew me away. I would trade my Kirkham in a heartbeat for that car. My Kirkham is very well-built but compared to 30601 my Kirkham is as crude and unfinished as a stone hammer. The 1960s COB and COX cars were finished at AC in England, never touched by Shelby American, but they are genuine Cobras. I consider this to be a genuine Cobra as well. A stunning car with a most interesting history. I was asleep at the switch when it came up for sale in my hometown. I wish it was mine but as that is not the case, I'm glad to see a friend of mine own it.
