No it gets no better.

Actually, that was a great day in my life: 3 1/2 hours traveling with a little doll that said (refering to the scenery) without prompting "This is beautiful, Grandpa" among many other things, but not complaining once!

Larry,
Your data panel says "...real Magnesium Halibrands". Are those the chromed wheels? I did not know that mag could be plated. How do they hold up and does the mag continue to deteriorate under the chrome?
I do know that aluminum can be successfully plated.
Thanks,

Thanks,
I need to edit the profile info as I now have 2 sets of rims.
The magnesium ones I had polished and they looked terrific:

But magnesium wheels are hard to keep up.
So they are relegated on one or two times a year use:

For street use (read: "easy to maintain") an extra set of rims were purchased and Serpent Express had them chromed.
Very pleased with the results.

The same setup can be bought from Vintage Wheels in either 15" or 17" pin drive.
They are 6-spoke like the original 427 Cobra.

Default Paint and wheels by Backdraft

The paint is Indigo blue with pearl white stripe
The wheels are also from Backdraft, special ordered chromed.
I got tired of polishing the aluminum ones on my first Cobra.

Larry,
Thanks for the clarification.
"...But magnesium wheels are hard to keep up.

Sooo true but you are much smarter than I. Mine have been on since '92. In the damp and humid northeast it's at least a bi-weekly chore or they go permanently green. Can't buy 'em anymore...

Thanks Larry.
It's custom paint. Porsche cobalt blue base with two Radiance candy colors over, blue and violet.
Now I have to kill you.
