Here in New Hampshire I've had the car out witht the weather in the 30's. With the right hat and gloves it's alot of fun. This year my son got his drivers license so I've kept the cobra on the road much later than other years. With the top up and side curtains on it is actualy not bad. The engine loves that dense cold air. I will keep driving until there is snow onthe roads. I just can't find a set of snow chains that fit very well. LOL.

I have been out when it has been in the low 20s, that is not really pleasant. As long as the temp is around 35 or higher, it isn't too bad. But I will pretty much drive all winter as long as the roads are clean, if nothing else, just to keep all the fluids moving.

Took a cold weather ride about a week ago here in central Jersey. With the right jacket, hat and gloves it really was not too bad even with the temp around 35. Face takes a bit of a chill. I did find the tires breaking quite easily and needed to take some extra care. Plan to keep riding as long as it stays dry on the roads.

My family thought I was nuts when I would go out with temps in the 30's........I am glad to see there are other crazies out there.....I will have to share this thread with them!!

I survived driving my Cobra in the Winter of '07. Windchill factor, 72 Degrees. Mesa Arizona...
Winter time is the prime driving time here. It's tough but not impossible to drive in 45 degree weather. Try driving in 115 degree weather with no top. THat's REALLY tough!

If you REALLY want to attract attention, drive the Cobra on the freeway with a FULL-FACED motorcycle helmet on yer noggin!!! lol !!!
Those helmets are good at keeping the cold air away from you!
Long underwear, two pairs of socks, jeans, T-shirt, fleece shirt, leather jacket, neck beanie, and some sort of a fur cap makes driving in the cold quite bearable.

I drove mine (SPF 2423) this past Saturday with a temperature of 42 degrees. Actually not bad with the heat running on my legs. I'll take the Cobra for a spin minimum twice a month in the cold season to keep her exercised. I'm sure people thought I was nuts but my Father said more like envious.

Does driving a TR3A in -15F count? Done that back in 1962, drove from Ottawa, Ont. to Toronto, Ont. one cold Janurary day. Had a soft top but no heater to speak of, just enough to keep inside of the windshield clear.

There are a few of us Long Islanders that drive in the cold....I limit my driving to above freezing....no top. We have a Sunday morning get together at Captree...all types of cars...not many Cobra's out this time of year.

If the roads are dry and clean and the sun is out it's time for a ride. I block off the oil cooler with plexi and the bottom third of the radiator with foam rubber and we're off. Running 5W-30 doesn't hurt either. I try to circulate the fluids on a regular basis in the winter. Last year the longest the snake went without starting was 5 weeks.
At the end of every ride the gas tank gets topped-off.
