Jay
I had the same question but review of early CSX pics does indicate they are correct.

I was at Valley Circle too, saw the car. My question would be: Were the wheelwell arches
added after the Cobra FIA cars already had their flared arches or shaped to cover the wheel and tires they were using? I ask this only because on the Ken Miles 390 at Sebring in '64 the rear arches were more flared lips than bulging rear fenders.
I saw the picture of the hardtop the owner had on display which looked from the side like a 250LM roof. I wonder if it had an inset (tunnelback) rear window like the 250LM too? Was the hardtop aluminum? Under the hood it looked like a car of that era but was the linkage for the carburetors the same as in the good old days?
Regarding that owner, yes, he drives his cars on the street. I have seen him drive his Ferrari Testa Rossa on the street and that's easily a $5 million car. So him drive the Cobra around is normal for him--he is director of a club of supporters for the Petersen Museum.
There's a big story on the car in Vintage Motorsport current issue. The article hints that it could actualy be CSX2000 but we all know CSX2000 has inboard rear brakes. Not much is made of it but I wonder what the reasoning would be? I wonder if a comparison has been made with pictures of CSX2000 being built?

What's the routine for this gathering at Valley Circle. I'm assuming this is near Hidden Hills. What time and frequency. It's a long drive up from San Clemente, but maybe I'd like to take a long spin to see some new cars. Thanks.

LAST Sunday of the month is the biggest turnout. Must arrive by 7 AM to park at the North end. Every Sunday morning. 7-9 am or so. McDonalds, Label's Table Coffee shop for breakfast, Vons and a CVS Drugstore on the lot. Just south of Hidden Hills. Valley Circle offramp on the 101 in Calabasas.

If you leave at 6 AM and get there by 8 AM, you still have an hour and a half or so to see the cars. We got there at 7 AM and parked in the second spot from the north end of the driveway; someone must have left a spot for us!!! lol !!! We left there about 9:45.

I've been a couple times, not the last Sunday of the month though. A good crowd in front of the coffee roasters. All flavors of cars old and new. Not far from some great driving and sight seeing roads like Mulholland Hwy, so it's easy to go have fun after your show and tell. By 10-11 the place is clearing out.

I just went this last Sunday (3-29-09). Bruce had CSX001 there again, along with Anthony and one of his two full comp Cobras..
Quite the crowd gathers around that beautiful car...
Anthony slipping into the beast...
I also took my Cobra R out on Mulholland after the meet....

That is always a great morning. Dustins folks make a good cup of coffee!
The last sunday has more to look at, but every sunday is fun. I hate missing it. Its a fun group that hangs out there.
I try to get there about 6:50 or so, to get a good parking spot on the busy days.
Im gonna try to drag the little lady out there this weekend. The problem is i have to fight her for the keys!! LOL
