SS side pipes
Would changing to a 3" core SS pipe from a stock spf pipe on a 427 fe require carb adjustment, new jets etc?

Depending on how well/close it was jetted with the stock pipes you will probably need some tweaking. Talk to Dan at Mroz Complete Auto, he has more directly applicable info than most anyone in your area( using that term a little broadly). He has swapped several SPFs to SS pipes( both BB and SB) and can give you a good idea of how much will be needed. His website is http://www.mrozcompleteauto.com, he's always helpful and also has a chassis dyno if you wanted to have it set up. I believe he has done some of the Windy City members cars over the years and they can give their input. I like the guy, regardless of that extra thumb....I just wish he'd keep it out of his nose :-).

I've talked to Dan about this before on rejetting. If your car is tuned properly to begin with, a rejetting should NOT be necessary. I changed from factory pipes to 3" bore and 3.5" bore on my SVO460, and my carb did not need rejetting in these changes. I know Dans experience has been the same. At any rate, give him a call because he's a great guy to deal with....and shoot the breeze with.

Does anyone make a 1 piece 3" cor exhaust like SS but coated only ??? Look like the factory but sound alot better. Im not much of a welder and I dont no of any trustable fabricators where I live. Added hp would be nice but as w/ my bike sound is important.

I'm not sure about the SS pipes, but I went from Superformance pipes to Buckshot Racefab side pipes with 3 inch core. I went up three jet sizes.

We make a set of ceramic coated pipes or mill finished pipes, they are still 304 Stainless and cost 300 for the coated and 500 for the mill finish less than a polished set. They are available in either 2.5 inch or 3.0 inch cores.
By the way Greg, the set you bought were built on my fixtures in total and at the time sold through others as I was unavailable due to my wifes passing.

So the jet hot coated only saves 300 over the polished SS ?

Heck, I'd go with the polished SS then. The one's I've seen look terrific. They may run a little hotter than the coated, but what the heck. I have seen some that end up "blue", but I understand there are a number of products out there that can take care of that.
