Ron - don't renew! I think you are right - those pushing us for renewals
are no doubt secondary sellers looking for their commissions and are clueless
(maybe) about the shutdown.

I don't know that a company in bankruptcy can refund...
I believe that all payments made to suppliers 90 days before the filing date, (much less the subscriptions sent in) can be called back if the payment is deemed preferential.
From talking to some other associates that have been forced into bankruptcy, they were advised not to say anything to anybody before the filing is made public - just keep doing business as usual.
As usual, I could be wrong on all this...

Received a post card today:
" The March 2009 issue of Kit Car will be the last issue published. The issue will be mailed on schedule.
The balance of your subscription will be served by Hot Rod Magazine starting with the April 2009 issue which will be mailed to you in mid February "

Don,
I received the same post card today. Darn, I would rather have had Kit Car continue.

Kit Car Post Card
I got the same post card today. I too would rather have Kit Car than Hot Rod.

same card in the mail too. I wonder if we have an option to change to another mag they carry. Hot Rod just recycles all there articles over and over.

Ditto on the card. Hot Rod stinks. I went to the local cigar/magazine shop, since they seem to carry almost every magazine known to mankind. However, they didn't have Kit Car Builder.

Ditto. Got the card today. There is a reason I didn't renew Hot Rod.

Wonder why you got a refund and the rest of us got transferred to Hot Rod. No big thing, but there are other magazines that I like better than Hot Rod and that was why I quit taking it.

Hey Ron perhaps someone is telling you it is about time you built a Hot Rod...
Have a good New Year.

I liked Kit Car but it seemed like it was sponsored by FFR...a lot of stuff each month about them (FFR) and their products. I didn't find much, or very much on-going information about other builders of Cobras and home built cars.
Actually they could include a monthly section in Hot Rod about Kit Cars in general, after all most Hot Rods other than muscle cars, are KIt Cars. Although for some, sports cars ain't Hot Rods.
Anyway, hopefully some publication will step-up and produce a good Replica publication.
My 2 cents, Bill

ditto on the card informing me of my Hot Rod subscription, I have been going to Borders Books to get my Kit Car Builders mag, none of the local stores carry much in the way of car mags anymore, now I go over to Traverse City every other month for the wifes Dr. appts and then hit the book store. I am seriously thinking of subscribing to the Builders mag.

Bernie,
It is kind of hard to build any type of Hot Rod in this state and be able to register it. Maybe if I had a 1920s car to work with. But it seems that Hot Rod Magazine is about 90% Chevrolet and then a Ford or MOPAR thrown in once in a while.
