Default Hollywood Knights - What kind of Cobra?

Anyone know what Cobra was in the movie Hollywood knights?

It had 2 great scenes, one against (project X) 57 chevy driven by Tony Danza.... The other against the "rail Job".

What a great movie that was!

It's a classic, for sure.

Any scene featuring a young Michelle Pfeiffer also qualifies, making for 5 or 6 "great scenes".

That particular car was reputed to have had a Cammer in it at the time??

For a long time that movie was not available on DVD but it is now.

Norman Lee & Jack Kimoto were the Driver & Passenger in the Cobra.

Tony Nancy who was a Drag racer from the 50's & 60's played Himself (the part of the garage owner).

Tainting the punch and the subseqent statements made by the the woman are priceless " I know that taste"

There was a dispute over the sound track rights. So that movie was lost for a long time.

Michelle Pfeiffer in her young 20's and a Cobra in the same flick

A must watch for all car guys! And because Pfeiffer is in it, a must watch for all guys!

I remember racing like that in Tampa near the old Steak and Shake in the late 60s.

One of my favorite movies. The 57 was Popular Hot Rodding's "Project X" It was kind of a test vehicle for every imagineable drive train. At one time it had a blown big block (might be the set up in the movie) that was unbelievably fast. If I remember correctly, it was running high 9's - low 10's in the quarter.

They (Popular Hot Rodding Mag) just redid Project X (Again!) with a GM 502 cu in Aluminum crate version of Big Block. They redid the entire body and interior using measuring processes that ensured that the body was exactly the same height and dimension everywhere. It was WAY over the top. They had 5 or 6 guys working on it, I think it was on display at SEMA last month. Not sure what value they would be able to put on it at this point. It is certainly a car that transends decades of car enthusiests.

When the movie was shot, original Cobras were probably like $12,000.

According to MeasuringWorth,
$12k in 1980 is worth in 2007 (latest available data):

$30,202.77 using the Consumer Price Index
$26,595.73 using the GDP deflator
$36,805.24 using the value of consumer bundle *
$29,504.21 using the unskilled wage *
$44,777.86 using the nominal GDP per capita
$59,397.74 using the relative share of GDP

Any way you slice it, that's quite a value...I should of bought a few Cobras back then!

In 1980, a nice hemi cuda was about $10-15K. I think 427 cobra's were about $50K give or take.
