Correct.
Yea, mine were around $1k/set, but if you want ultimate grip, I mean a race tire (now I know why those guys swerve back and forth to heat up their tires) then this is it. I used to be able to chirp the tires in 3rd and now I can't break them loose under 2500 in 1st. It feels like it wants to do a wheel stand.
I only put 2000 miles on the car a year, so they'll age out before they wear out. And I don't drive if there's any chance of rain.

FWIW:

Years ago I put the Blue Streaks on and drove on the street for a while.
Pros: They looked good. They stick like glue.
Cons: I had 4 flats in 250 miles. The tread is extremely thin. They pepper the rear fender with grit. They may be predictably dangerous on a wet street. I now use them for some occasional track driving.

A few years ago I mounted the Billboard tires for street use.
Pros: They look great. The tread height is great for street driving. No flat, yet.
Con: It's also a sticky tire and peppers the rear fender, but somewhat less than the Blue Streak tire. Just some more 'patina'.

The Billboards are what I want, I talked to someone yesterday that when he goes to a track event, he;ll see if he can get me a good used set. With us racing sprint cars, when the Outlaws come to town, they race in the hot laps and maybe, a heat race and throw them away.

So, if any.....of you go racing, please remember me if you see a good set being thrown away !

Maybe I should use our sprint Hoosiers on my cobra.

Kind of an oxymoron there and most likely wishful thinking.

For street driving, I'm not so sure I'd want a set that has seen several heat cycles either. Tires are one area where I never cut corners (no pun intended).

Hey guys,

I don't know if anyone is still looking for the GoodYear vintage tires but I have some GoodYear Blue Streak Vintage tires that are used but still have FULL Rubber left.

The sizes I have are:
5.5x15
600x15
700x15
800x15

$70 each + shipping

Picture coming soon.

I know I don't have many posts here but I have been working used tires for some time on other forums: Hoosier Koni Grand Am Series Race Tires - Bimmerforums - The Ultimate BMW Forum
