I'm sure that it's repairable. Because of its value, a good auto body repairman/shop can replace the roof and front end. I've seen these repairs on expensive european cars many times.

Yes, it would drop a very large amount........... Since it now requires major repair work & the original/collectible value is gone (or atleast severly discounted), I would restomod it. But Hey, I'm a Hot Rod kinda guy.

it is fixable.
Yes the value would drop due to a documented crash like this.
the registry is full of crashed, chopped , cut cars.
Sad But True.

It's not as bad as it looks...Nose pieces need to be replaced, no radiator support damage (all fiberglass work, and that 99% of it bolt on).....Roof damage can be floated out by a quality bodyman.
As for value dropping, not really unless you base the value on it truly being a 100% all original (including paint) car.......Far too many of these cars have had body repair in the past. Quite a few more without their original drivetrain installed...........

Seen worse, especially when it comes to Cobras. All part of the cars rich history - a lot of old cars get bent. I expected it be rolled into a small ball.
A large hammer and bit of polish, job done.

I agree with Bill,most of the commentary on the page was from someone that is unfamiliar with the car's construction. Some, I think, bordered on hysterical....they mention the crease in the trunk lid( which is fiberglass,as are many of the panels) speculating that the complete body is tweaked....yet... the gaps around the trunk still look pretty good. I think the trunk lid was flexed/cracked and the pics make it appear "creased". As Trevor commented...I have seen worse, as well. The roof will be the hardest, but not insurmountable. Done correctly, it would be unnoticeable to most.

Originals get bent from time to time. As in the ground pounder historic race at Road America a few years ago. No, those aren't replicas.

The complete roof panel can easily be replaced with an original Mustang donor, much like the original factory assembly process. It's just a little harder to find a replacement panel. Easily worth sacrificing an unbent Mustang body.
With this Shelby Mustang out of the picture for a while, the others would invariably increase in value, which would bring this car back in line in the near future if repaired properly. Many original Cobras and Shelby Mustangs are rebuilt wrecks.

I don't know what they sell individually, but Dynacorn has a complete '67 and '69 body they sell. You should be able to get a new roof from them and make the job a little easier...with no ritual sacrifice involved.

That car is easily repairable. Remember he said that it already had a repaint so the paint is not original anyway. So why should the value be affected?, unless the repair is awfull!

Yeah, It can probably be repaired, but then it's a repaired car. That's why it would effect value. Everyone would rather have it in the condition (& provenance) that it was in before the wreck. Yes, maybe the repairs can be done so they are not detectable, or atleast extremely hard to detect. But, they are still there. With the High dollar value of these cars, a seller would want to disclose any repairs so as not to be held accountable for any "surprises" down the line that a buyer might discover. A non-disclosure of this magnitude can be construed as fraud. Especially now that pictures are posted on the net for the whole world to see. How would you like to buy an all original pristine GT500KR & then some time down the road be shown the posted pictures of your car?! Yee-Haaa! I know I'd be hopping mad!! Anyway, I'm just saying the car is worth way more with just a repaint then with major surgery/reconstruction/restoration. But then again, I'm a nut. If it were mine, I'd cage it, bore & stroke the motor to the max, cut a huge whole in the hood for a 6-71 huffer to stick through & have the baddest GT500KR on the planet!

And then you would decrease the value of the car a heck of a lot more than the aforementioned repairs. In my opinion, there are better cars to restomod (like a non-Shelby, non-big block Mustang).
Oh well, different strokes for different folks.
