We just had another request to have these with an 0-ring seal in them instead of the gasket...can't say I blame them.

So, we will be doing a slight modification of the program and use a custom o-ring type gasket from Mr. Gasket. We can't used a standard o-ring as there is NO room.

The Mr. Gasket o-ring will arrive here on Thursday and we will reprogram when we get it. The new tanks will then be ready to ship the following Monday the 2nd of February.

Thanks!

David

Yea, but if this one fails, you just pull over and it pees a little. Kinda hard to pull the Space Shuttle over to check things out!

My converted Dove tank works just fine, but what a pain in the @#$%^ to make. I'm sure that I would have been hundreds of dollars ahead if your tank would have been available back then, sigh...

We designed our tank so it is completely bolt on--with no surprises.

I just got a notice the gaskets were delayed until Friday. The o-ring is a special unit made by Mr. Gasket that I can't find. We can't finish the programming until we get that gasket. As soon as the o-ring arrives, we will draw it up and I will post pictures!

David, the one-piece approach is a great idea. I just spent the last two weeks installing an SPF tank on my polished Windsor. It's a beautiful tank, but a lot of the assembly grief came from mounting the tank on that 2' spacer plus you have to order a 90 degree thermostat housing, which can be extremely expensive if you go the polished route. Yours should be right popular. By the way, the hose flange on the SPF is 2", so one has to plan on another nice additional chunk of money to install a Coolflex hose. 1.75" or less is no problem.

Here you can see we took the original distributor cap off and placed the large electric distributor cap on the motor. We wanted to make sure it cleared everything--and it does!

Default Radiator hose

I like the fact that yours radiator hose exits on the drivers side. If it didn't It would not be usable for me.

Yep, that's the one I got as well. The shiny ones were really expensive except for that one. The chrome will probably peel of in a few weeks.

Here you can see we also modified the new 2 piece cold air box (turkey pan) so it would clear the big cap as well.

This is a picture of our latest addition to the line up---the right hand outlet.

We have been making left hand outlet tanks now for a long time. I'll post a picture of those soon as soon as we get the o-ring thing figured out.

By the way, this is 289 motor, not a 351.

Here you can see we kept the port for the little 90 degree bypass hose.

CobraEd,

The tank exits on either side. You just have to specify when you order. The original cars exit on the left side, and many guys wanted a tank that exited on the right side (passenger side) like the original Galaxy.

In this picture, I figured I'd show the new right exit we just made.

This is the prototype tank. This one is designed to use a gasket. But due to complaints from the peanut gallery, we are modifying the neck to use an o-ring instead. Frankly, I can't blame them! The gasket is really hard to deal with.

Tony,

Our outlets are 1.75 inches. I am not sure why the SPF tank is 2 inches when there aren't many radiators that have a 2 inch inlet. That caused us a lot of grief and was one of the precipitating factors that persuaded us to make these tanks in the first place. I was tired of looking for a reducing hose.
