In this market, they will have to eventually discount them, after the initial "rush" of orders.
There are so many actual Corvettes out there that are real turds and not worth restoring that it may be cheaper to buy one of them and do a GS replica.

I don't know, if you look at all the other introductory prices on that site, not one of them ever went down in price, and all of them went up soon after by at least $10k. Mebee they will include one of them new webbers with the burner on the side as an incentive. Mmmmmmm.

Especially the backdraft webbers with IR. I actually used to like the GS Corvettes until that geaser guy from Cramel ruined it for me. I think he still visits here once in a while too. McD00 if I remember correctly.

McD00 is a living legend and his knowledge of FE's is beyond compare. Where has he been lately?

Thats why you're your on my blocked senders list, you drunkard.
At any rate, which one of these replicas is a licensed copy? You may want to hop in here too McD??, since it seems you are all knowing, not only when it comes to Cobras, but also Corvettes.
I would think using the name or the design rights that are still in use and owned today would invite trouble from GM.

But the Grand Sports are not based upon the production Corvette frame, they were a twin tube design and the bodies are quite different in construction (larger, thinner panels as opposed to the production heavy gauge FRP that was bonded into the single body)

Agreed.
However, there are more accurate Cobra replicas and less accurate Cobra replicas. Ditto for GS Vettes. If someone wanted a GS replica and were willing to cut up one of the many Vettes on the market that are in poor condition, then they could build it close enough.
