Man I Love This Woman
Saturday my wife and I were rearranging the garage to make room for the truck inside. I had not started the Cobra since mid December and when the weather cleared for a bit (RAIN) I started the Cobra so I could back it out and move it over two spots.
The QFT 580 DP has no choke so after I got it started I asked my wife to lean over the fender and keep the throttle open a bit to keep it running so I could move the last item in the way. As she did this she looked at me and said, "It's running kind of rough isn't it?"
It was missing a bit as it warmed up but Man I love a woman that knows that kind of stuff!!

You missed your opportunity to reply, "Well, yeah. It's been like that since October or so. She needs about $300 in parts to get her to run correctly, but with the economy and all I've been holding off."
And then when she tells you to go to summitracing.com and order what you need, now that's when you tell her how much you love her.

Yeah, yeah, yeah... next year at this time she'll be arguing the Cobra is marital property and that you're SOL.

Let the truth be told (25+ years of marriage):
In the early days my wife would help me adjust the solid lifters on my '70 Z-28. She would even drive that car hard, which for a 5'2" blue-eyed blonde while chirping second gear was quite the sight.
In the mid-years eventually came the C4 Corvette, and she was open to driving it (without getting too crazy). For some reason or another she respected that car a bit more.
Enter present day...doesn't want much to do with the Cobra. Ever.

My wife is afraid to drive the Cobra. She does however love to ride in it.
And the funny thing is she has a Jeep SRT/8 which is pretty quick for what it is, and she drives the he!! out of it.

My wife won't let me buy a power brake bleeder because she does not want to lose her job as pedal pusher... Sweet!

Great idea. But don't forget that you can easily add another $50/month in your car budgets if you tell them that you need to buy some blinker fluid and muffler bearings.

Tell that to my younger daughter and you maybe surprised with the reply. Engineers can be quite rude when you insult their intelligence. By the way, she has a 5.0L Mustang and knows how to make it perform.

I recently told my wife (aka: "The War Dept.") that the reason my Coupe was running rough was that the framistat light was burned out and the fuel couldn't see to get in the engine. I now support a bruise for my smart-ass remark. Good luck with humoring your wives.

Larry, just use http://kalecoauto.com/ to back up your claims. Great place to order the cross drilled brake lines to get the maximum effect from your cross drilled rotors.

Great story, perfect time to create (as stated) the need to further improve the condition of your cobra.
YA HON! I THINK I'M GONNA HAVE TO BUY SOME MORE PARTS TO GET THIS THING TO RUN LIKE IT SHOULD. HOW'S THE BALANCE ON OUR MASTER CARD, I GOTTA GO ON SUMMIT AND CHECK THINGS OUT BEFORE IT GETS WORSE.
I know, if she is like my wife, she's way too smart for this trick.

Hi Guys,
My wife popped into my office about an hour ago and suggested that we take the Cobra for a cruise to Half Moon bay tomorrow for lunch.

It was just these kinds of questions that finally prompted her to ask, "would you rather spend time with me or that car?!"
She's got the cutest little apartment now.

Mine actually helps me push either the SPF or race car up the lift ramps. But she does complain 'cause I'm sitting in the drivers seat. Imagine that!
Stick her hand in an engine bay while it's running. No efen way. You guys are lucky men!

Hi Guys,
At my brides suggestion we did the 180 mile round trip in the Cobra yesterday Across the Bay Bridge, To the Pacific down the shoreline for 60 miles and looped back home. Stops for lunch, sunshine and great views of the Pacific all the way.
(Gotta a little sun burn)
She has two rules for me...
1) Don't Die.
2) Do Not Fxxxx around.
Otherwise I can have the cars, spend money on them, she will come into the garage and hold a wrench or whatever as needed, bring me coffee and she is more than willing to jump into them with me and go anywhere -------- Gotta Love this Woman.

Sounds like a great run Tony! Perfect driving weather on the coast this week. I hope to get out to enjoy it on Saturday.
Only one request from my wife. Don't start the car in the garage when she's doing laundry. I started the car one day when some clean sheets were in the laundry basket. That night as she was drifting off to sleep she said "the sheets smell like exhaust."
Naturally, I slept like a baby.
